  • Is IT a Good Career Path in 2025
    2025/07/01

There are a lot of negative comments about breaking into the Information Technology (IT) field. Getting hired for your first IT job has never been easy in my experience. I started working in the field about 10 years ago as a Help Desk Technician and have progressed since then. Before landing that job, I acquired my CompTIA A+ certification and was almost done with my Bachelor's degree in Business with a Minor in IT. The most important thing was an interest in technology and wanting to fix things. You'll hear it mentioned several times in this video that a strong interest and a desire to not be defeated by robots has been my driving force. I'm not scared of where Artificial Intelligence (AI) or the latest trending tech. There's a lot of hype. What really works is suiting up and showing up each day. Things don't magically happen overnight. This is not a quick fix or a get-rich-scheme. It's a career, and these usually play out over decades. Don't compare your year 1 to someone else's year 10. It doesn't add up.Please don't give up, and keep at it! Before you know it, you'll learn, grow, and become a true Information Technology (IT) pro. • Is Entry-Level IT Oversaturated in 2025?
    2025/07/01

Is the IT Field Really Oversaturated? Here’s My Take After 10 Years in the Industry.Lately, I’ve seen a growing number of posts and comments across platforms like LinkedIn, Reddit, and YouTube claiming that the Information Technology (IT) field is oversaturated. The narrative goes something like this: “IT is too crowded now. There’s no room for beginners. You’ll never get hired without years of experience or dozens of certifications.”I don’t buy into that hype, and neither should you.Yes, the IT industry is competitive. But it has always been competitive. I’ve been working in IT for almost a decade, and honestly can’t remember a time when it wasn’t challenging to stand out, land your first job, or level up your career. That’s nothing new. What is new is how accessible the field has become for people with the right mindset, willingness to learn, and ability to adapt. Here’s the reality: while more people enter the tech space, demand for skilled IT professionals keeps growing. This is especially true in specializations like Cybersecurity, System Administration, and IT Support. Companies still need people who can solve problems, communicate clearly, and support users. The tools might change, but the need for capable IT professionals is consistently strong. So if you're trying to break into IT, don’t get discouraged by the noise. Instead, focus on building real skills, creating a strong online presence (like on LinkedIn or GitHub), and learning how to communicate your value. There’s still plenty of opportunity, you just have to know where to look and how to stand out. Please don't give up, and keep at it!
