We've brought in Kenyan basketball royalty for Episode 37! Javan and Edu are joined by the legendary Wingman, Nairobi City Thunder's absolute number one super-fan!

Wingman tells us the incredible story of his fan origin—from playing alongside current Thunder star Dima for the Shauri Moyo Bucks, to the tragic accident in 2019 that ended his playing career, to officially becoming the most electric hype man in Kenyan basketball. He breaks down how he single-handedly starts the arena-shaking chants, the massive success of his custom Nairobi City Thunder merchandise line (selling for 4,500 KES!), and his side hustle coaching hoops at Rosslyn Academy.

The crew gets serious about the 2026 KNBL Playoffs. We address the ongoing stadium controversies—why a team like Kisumu Lakeside is forced to play "home" games at Nyayo Stadium, and Wingman’s dream for a true "Wingman Arena" on Ngong Road.

Finally, it’s all about the Basketball Africa League (BAL). Wingman shares his firsthand stories from traveling with the team to the BK Arena in Kigali, the controversy surrounding imported players like Ghana Pamo refusing to train at Nyayo, and why Coach Brad Ebes needs to trust local Kenyan talent to get Thunder the ultimate continental victory.

The I Really Hoop Podcast goes LIVE for the first time ever! The crew, Javan, Presley, Ethan, and Conrad, set up a live pop-up broadcast at the Daystar University P.A.C Court Foyer in partnership with Shine FM 99.9 for Daystar Media Week 2026!

We kick things off by debating LeBron James entering his 25th NBA season at 41 years old and taking the GOAT debate straight to the live campus crowd! From campus casuals picking Michael Jordan because of his sneakers to Daystar varsity hoopers breaking down Finals records, the crowd did not hold back.

Then comes the main event: LIVE CASH TRIVIA! Javan puts real money on the table for Daystar students to test their basketball knowledge, naming NBA franchises, local Kenyan teams like Nairobi City Thunder and Daystar Falcons, and rapid-fire player names[cite: 8]. Watch the intense 1v1 elimination showdown between Daystar Falcons baller Carla and crowd favorite Natasha that went all the way to a tiebreaker debate!

To close out the show, Javan and Ethan address Dennis Nderitu's video response regarding the Commonwealth Games 3x3 dispute[cite: 8], followed by heated hot takes on whether Steph Curry should demand a trade to OKC Thunder or Conrad's newly adopted Miami Heat!
