このコンテンツについて
From 0:00 to 2:00 - Martin Luther King Jr. discusses the Emancipation Proclamation and how, 100 years later, in 1963, discrimination and injustice persist for African Americans. He talks about coming to the capital to "cash a check" for justice and freedom.
From 2:00 to 4:00 - MLK says now is the time to make real the promises of democracy and rise out of segregation and injustice. He says they cannot be satisfied as long as injustices persist.
From 4:00 to 6:00 - MLK talks about the fierce urgency of now and not being satisfied until justice prevails. He encourages the crowd to conduct the struggle with dignity and discipline.
From 6:00 to 8:00 - MLK says they must keep moving forward in the struggle and cannot turn back. He shares his dream of equality, freedom, and justice for all.
From 8:00 to 10:00 - The speaker reflects on not hearing MLK's speech in 1963, as she was a 2-year-old girl in London then. She is now living the dream in America that MLK spoke of. She asks the audience what their dream is and to speak it out.
