  • Dr. Peter Victor | Escape from Overshoot | Economics for a Planet in Peril
    2023/10/15

Dr. Peter Victor is an economist who has worked on environmental issues for over 40 years as an academic, consultant and public servant. He was the first President of the Canadian Society for Ecological Economics and one of the founders of that discipline. From 1996 to 2002, Peter served as the Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Studies at York University in Toronto.

We discuss Peter’s book titled “Escape from Overshoot: Economics for a Planet in Peril.” Can we rein in our consumption and damage to our environment? Will we need to reduce our standards of living, or even our population, to reach a sustainable relationship with our planet? How can we seek an equitable steady state that doesn’t leave the disadvantaged behind?
