The First Commandment “You shall have no other gods before me” calls for exclusive devotion. God’s “jealousy” isn’t petty but the rightful claim of a Deliverer who rescued His people from Egypt’s false gods. Unlike worship built on fear, He invites us into love and covenant. Today our idols may be career, comfort, or ambition, but only Jesus deserves the throne of our hearts.
