  • Series 13 - Episode 3: Mikey Morton
    2025/03/23

When a young Mikey watched York City on the terraces of Bootham Crescent with his grandad, he would have dreamt of representing the club when he was older. That opportunity came when he was appointed assistant manager to David Webb in 2022 but took full charge of the side when Webb departed after only a few months. Trying to keep the club in the National League whilst off the field issues reared their head on a regular basis, Mikey’s time in the dugout was short but eventful. Here he reflects on his time leading the Minstermen as well as the coaching career in general.

During those times it was well known that Bumble was a huge football fan, in particular, of his hometown club, Accrington Stanley but perhaps lesser known is that he is now (alongside wife Diana) a season ticket holder for York City.
