After the recording stopped, the conversation continued and one thing that came up is the importance to always check in with your partner in the middle of encounters. Survivors of abuse will often disassociate and may not be able or willing to speak. Always use verbal check-ins such as, "Is this still okay?" or "Are you still comfortable?"Hopeful Hearts Ministry aids in the long term recovery for survivors of trauma and abuse.
