We believe in Jesus. We believe He saves. We believe the world desperately needs Him. But when it comes time to tell someone else, we stay silent.
In Matthew 28:18–20, Jesus leaves His followers with more than a suggestion—He gives them a mission: Go. Make disciples. Share what you have received. The gospel was never meant to stop with us.
Fear, awkwardness, rejection, or simply not knowing what to say can keep us quiet. But Jesus doesn’t send us alone. The One who commands us to go also promises, “I am with you always.”

If Jesus has changed our lives, the question isn’t whether we have something worth sharing—it’s who needs to hear it from us?

We believe in God. We believe His Word is true. But when His truth confronts the sin we don’t want to surrender, we start making excuses: “It’s not that bad. Everyone does it. God understands.”
In 1 Corinthians 5:1–8, Paul confronts a church that had become comfortable with what God called sin. Instead of repentance, there was tolerance. Instead of transformation, there was compromise.
Grace was never meant to give us permission to remain unchanged. Jesus didn’t save us so we could make peace with our sin—He came to set us free from it.
The question isn’t whether God will forgive what we surrender. The question is: What are we still refusing to surrender?

Forgiveness sounds easy—until someone truly hurts us. We keep score. We remember the wounds. We wonder how many chances one person deserves.
In Matthew 18:21–35, Peter asks Jesus a question we’ve all wrestled with: “How many times do I have to forgive?” Jesus responds with a story that exposes the enormous grace we’ve received from God—and the danger of refusing to extend that same grace to others.
We have been forgiven a debt we could never repay. Now Jesus calls us to release the debts we’re still holding against others.
Forgiven people are called to become forgiving people.

Philippians 4:4–9 reminds us that God never intended for anxiety to control our lives. Instead, He calls us to bring everything to Him in prayer, guard our minds with truth, and trust Him with what we cannot control.

Worry asks, “What if?” Faith asks, “What if I trusted God with it?”

We believe God is powerful. We believe He has a plan. But when life doesn’t make sense, prayers seem unanswered, and circumstances refuse to change, we begin to wonder: Is God really doing anything?
Romans 8:28 reminds us that even when we can’t see His hand, God is still working. He can take the pain, setbacks, disappointments, and uncertainties of our lives and weave them into His greater purpose. God’s silence doesn’t mean His absence—and just because you can’t see what He’s doing doesn’t mean He isn’t working.

Romans 8:31–39 answers with a resounding YES! Nothing—not trouble, failure, fear, suffering, or anything else in all creation—can separate us from the love of God found in Jesus Christ.
It’s one thing to believe that God loves the world. It’s another to believe He loves you.

Today we start a new sermon series titled "The Disconnect"
We say we believe in God—but does the way we live reflect what we say we believe?
We believe in Jesus, but do we truly know Him? We know God loves us, yet we worry and doubt. We believe He is working, yet wonder where He is. We receive forgiveness but struggle to forgive. We justify sin, hide our faith, and convince ourselves we don’t really need the church.
There’s often a disconnect between what we believe and how we live.
The Disconnect confronts those gaps with the truth of Scripture—challenging us not just to believe in God, but to live like we believe Him.

Jesus gives one of His most unsettling warnings in Matthew 7:21–23: it’s possible to believe in God, talk about God, even do things for God—and still not truly know Him.
They called Him Lord. They pointed to their accomplishments. They looked religious. But Jesus exposed the disconnect between outward belief and a genuine relationship with Him.
Faith isn’t simply knowing the right words, attending church, or doing good things. It’s about knowing Jesus—and being known by Him.
What if the greatest danger isn’t rejecting Jesus…but believing we know Him when we really don’t?

• Invest in what lasts. Earthly possessions fade, but heavenly treasure has eternal value.
• Your money reveals your heart. “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
• You can't serve both God and money. Eventually, one will become your master.
• Don't let worry control you. If God cares for the birds and flowers, you can trust Him to care for you.
• Put God's Kingdom first. Instead of being consumed with getting more or worrying about having enough, seek God first and trust Him to provide.
• Live one day at a time. Don't allow tomorrow's worries to steal today's faithfulness.
