What happens when the values we believe are put to the test?

In the final week of our Core Values series, Pastor Josh shares a message titled Built Different. Looking at Daniel 1, we see Daniel and his friends enter a culture that pressured them to compromise who they were and what they believed. Faced with acceptance, comfort, and opportunity, they chose conviction—and God caused them to stand out because they were willing to stand firm.

The same challenge exists for us today. Biblical values aren't meant simply to be words we agree with when they're convenient. They shape who we are, guide our decisions, and help us remain faithful when the culture around us pulls in another direction.

As Hope City Community Church continues to grow, our goal isn't simply to become a bigger church. It's to remain clear about who God has called us to be and faithful to the values and vision He has given us.

Trends may get attention, but values and vision build something that lasts. We are called to be different because we have been built on something different.

Our Core Values define who we are. They guide what we do, guard where we go, and show what we stand for.

In Week 2 of our Core Values messages, Elder Troy Peaden introduces the six values that help define the identity and mission of Hope City Community Church. Together, these values form the acronym CHASED and provide a practical framework for how we live, serve, love, and pursue the mission God has given us.

But our values aren't simply words we've chosen for ourselves. In this message, we see how the Great Commission in Matthew 28 and the Greatest Commandment in Matthew 22 are woven throughout all six, providing a biblical foundation for who we are called to be as a church.

Ultimately, everything points back to the grace of Jesus. We are called to love God, love people, make disciples, and faithfully live out the mission He has entrusted to us.

This is who we are. This is what guides us. We are CHASED by GRACE.
