What happens when the values we believe are put to the test?

In the final week of our Core Values series, Pastor Josh shares a message titled Built Different. Looking at Daniel 1, we see Daniel and his friends enter a culture that pressured them to compromise who they were and what they believed. Faced with acceptance, comfort, and opportunity, they chose conviction—and God caused them to stand out because they were willing to stand firm.

The same challenge exists for us today. Biblical values aren't meant simply to be words we agree with when they're convenient. They shape who we are, guide our decisions, and help us remain faithful when the culture around us pulls in another direction.

As Hope City Community Church continues to grow, our goal isn't simply to become a bigger church. It's to remain clear about who God has called us to be and faithful to the values and vision He has given us.

Trends may get attention, but values and vision build something that lasts. We are called to be different because we have been built on something different.

Our Core Values define who we are. They guide what we do, guard where we go, and show what we stand for.

In Week 2 of our Core Values messages, Elder Troy Peaden introduces the six values that help define the identity and mission of Hope City Community Church. Together, these values form the acronym CHASED and provide a practical framework for how we live, serve, love, and pursue the mission God has given us.

But our values aren't simply words we've chosen for ourselves. In this message, we see how the Great Commission in Matthew 28 and the Greatest Commandment in Matthew 22 are woven throughout all six, providing a biblical foundation for who we are called to be as a church.

Ultimately, everything points back to the grace of Jesus. We are called to love God, love people, make disciples, and faithfully live out the mission He has entrusted to us.

This is who we are. This is what guides us. We are CHASED by GRACE.

In God’s Kingdom, the path to life often looks completely opposite to the instincts of our flesh. If we truly want to live, something in us has to die.

In Week 3 of Kingdom Logic, Pastor Josh unpacks Romans 6 and the freedom that comes when we stop negotiating with sin and begin putting to death the desires that keep us bound. Following Jesus isn’t about learning to better manage our old way of life. Through Christ, we are called to die to the old and walk in newness of life.

Too often, we ask God to help us control, improve, or even bless things He has already called us to surrender. But real freedom begins when we stop trying to preserve what Christ died to free us from.

Kingdom Logic turns the world’s definition of strength upside down.

In Week 2 of our Kingdom Logic series, Pastor Josh challenges the way we think about what it means to be strong. The world often defines strength by power, dominance, or the ability to overpower others—but in God’s Kingdom, true strength is revealed through what we have the power to do but choose not to do.

Through the fruit of the Spirit, we discover that gentleness, self-control, restraint, and a calm spirit are not signs of weakness. They are evidence of incredible strength. Real strength is having the ability to react, retaliate, or take control, yet possessing the discipline to surrender our response to God.

Sometimes the strongest person in the room isn’t the loudest or most powerful. It’s the person who could react—but chooses restraint.

When life goes down, Kingdom Logic says take it up!

In the final week of our Exodus series, we turn our attention from what God has set us free from to what He has set us free for.

God hasn't given us freedom simply to sit back and wait on eternity. He has a purpose for our lives right now—a purpose that can impact the lives and eternities of the people around us.

In Freedom to Dream, we explore the power and purpose of dreaming with God. When we trust Him with our future, we can begin to see beyond our limitations and believe that He can use our lives for something greater than ourselves.

As we close out the Exodus series, we're challenged not just to live free, but to do something with that freedom. Trust God with the plans He's placed in your heart, step boldly into His purpose, and don't be afraid to dream big.
