Lauren McLean is the Mayor of Boise and came in to speak about key issues and work in the city. Boise and Idaho’s Treasure Valley are quickly becoming the least affordable housing markets in the country, leading to increased homelessness, decreased homeownership, and a lower quality of life. Mayor McLean and I hit on many things the city is doing to make meaningful progress on these issues as well as what is being done to continue the preservation of the incredible surrounding wild areas. The school systems in the area are also quite diverse. Boise school district and West Ada School District, though right next to each other, are quite different. Ada County is also home to our state capital and many of our elected officials.
