  • Nevada: A Three-Year-Old, Youth Soccer, and the Law
    2026/10/27

A three-year-old soccer star. A dad recording his son. And police at the field. This week we discuss Nevada’s removal from a youth soccer league in Winter Park, Florida, following a dispute over livestreaming—and why this story raises bigger questions about race and youth sports, parental behavior, and police involvement.

We examine racism in youth sports, implicit bias, and the consequences of calling police on a Black family over a sideline dispute. When parents say they’re protecting their children, whose safety matters—and who gets treated like a threat?

Then we tackle sexism in youth sports, the treatment of female coaches, and what children learn when adults defend aggressive behavior instead of addressing it. From girls’ soccer to league leadership, we question who gets heard, who gets protected, and how expensive pay-to-play sports affect access and opportunity.

We also explore how youth sports strain family relationships and high-conflict co-parenting. Disputes over extracurricular activities, parenting schedules, soccer fees, and forgotten equipment can become weapons in family law cases. When parents fight over who pays and who shows up, children carry the consequences.

From family law to criminal law, this episode examines how everyday conflicts escalate—and how race, gender, money, and power shape the response. Everyone says youth sports are about the kids. When did letting them play youth sports become this complicated?

  • Kamarie Holland & the Cost of Protecting Men: Misandry or Survival
    2026/10/24

A five-year-old is murdered. Her mother goes to prison. The perpetrator gets the death penalty. Her father faces child endangerment charges. The Kamarie Holland case raises difficult questions about child custody, family court, and accountability—and who the justice system actually protects.

This week on High Conflict Hell, we discuss Kamarie Holland, Jeremy Williams, and what happens when a family court custody arrangement becomes part of a criminal case. We examine the questions surrounding the prosecution of Kamarie’s father: What did he know? Did he have reason to believe his daughter was in danger? And what does punishing a grieving parent accomplish?

For parents navigating divorce, co-parenting, and high-conflict custody disputes, the expectations can feel impossible. Encourage your child’s relationship with the other parent. Follow the parenting plan. Recognize every warning sign. Protect your children—but don’t get accused of keeping them away. We discuss the tension between supporting parental relationships and protecting children, especially when courts judge decisions after something goes terribly wrong.

Then we ask: Misandry or survival? When women speak about domestic violence, sexual assault, and male violence against women and children, why does the conversation so often shift to men’s feelings? We unpack misogyny, self-protection, and the backlash women face for naming patterns of abuse.

We also discuss the role of family members, friends, and partners who defend abusive behavior. “He’s a good guy.” “My brother would never.” “You know he loves his kids.” How do loyalty, denial, and victim blaming help protect someone’s reputation while leaving women and children exposed to harm? And what should believing and supporting survivors actually look like?

During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we connect the cases making headlines with the dynamics that play out in everyday relationships: dismissed threats, ignored boundaries, pressure to stay silent, and a system that too often reacts after the damage is done. From intimate partner violence to failures in family court, we’re asking why protecting women and children still comes second to defending the men around them.

  • Heather Thompson Day & Seth Day: Child Abuse Allegations and the “Man of God” Defense
    2026/10/20

Heather Thompson Day and Seth Day built a public platform around Christian faith, relationships, and parenting. Now, child abuse allegations raise serious questions about what happened behind closed doors. In this episode of High Conflict Hell, we discuss the allegations against the Christian author and former youth pastor, their bond hearings, and Heather’s reaction to the accusations involving their teenage daughter.

We break down the reported timeline, two prior CPS investigations, and the allegations that Heather attempted to conceal her daughter’s injuries. We discuss what these circumstances raise about mandated reporting, child protection, and how a family’s reputation can influence the way people respond to warning signs. The charges remain allegations, and both defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

“But Your Honor, he’s a man of God.” Why does religious status get offered as proof of someone’s character? From the Duggars and Ruby Franke to other cases we’ve covered, we examine how religious authority, demands for obedience, and pressure to protect a public image can create opportunities for coercive control—and make speaking up harder for children and women.

With personal stories, legal commentary, and our usual unfiltered opinions, we ask what protecting children actually looks like when the adults involved have powerful platforms. We talk about teaching kids to question authority, recognizing spiritual abuse, and why a polished Christian influencer brand should never replace accountability. Educational commentary and opinion only; not legal advice.
