Heather Thompson Day and Seth Day built a public platform around Christian faith, relationships, and parenting. Now, child abuse allegations raise serious questions about what happened behind closed doors. In this episode of High Conflict Hell, we discuss the allegations against the Christian author and former youth pastor, their bond hearings, and Heather’s reaction to the accusations involving their teenage daughter.

We break down the reported timeline, two prior CPS investigations, and the allegations that Heather attempted to conceal her daughter’s injuries. We discuss what these circumstances raise about mandated reporting, child protection, and how a family’s reputation can influence the way people respond to warning signs. The charges remain allegations, and both defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

“But Your Honor, he’s a man of God.” Why does religious status get offered as proof of someone’s character? From the Duggars and Ruby Franke to other cases we’ve covered, we examine how religious authority, demands for obedience, and pressure to protect a public image can create opportunities for coercive control—and make speaking up harder for children and women.

With personal stories, legal commentary, and our usual unfiltered opinions, we ask what protecting children actually looks like when the adults involved have powerful platforms. We talk about teaching kids to question authority, recognizing spiritual abuse, and why a polished Christian influencer brand should never replace accountability. Educational commentary and opinion only; not legal advice.
