• Ep.47 You Can't Hate Yourself Better
    2025/12/24

As the year comes to a close, many of us feel the pressure to change—set goals, improve habits, and become “better” versions of ourselves. But what if the way we’ve been trying to grow is actually holding us back?

In this episode, we’re talking about why you can’t hate yourself better—and why punishment, shame, and harsh self-talk don’t create lasting change. Through a deeply personal story from my family’s health journey after cancer, along with honest reflections on weight, habits, and self-criticism, we unpack why so many of us believe being hard on ourselves is the key to progress.

You’ll learn why punishment may stop behavior short-term but never leads to real growth—and what actually does. We’ll explore the power of positive reinforcement, self-love, gratitude, and compassion, and how shifting your inner dialogue can help you build healthier habits without fear or shame.

If you’ve ever felt stuck in cycles of guilt, self-loathing, or “starting over,” this episode is your reminder: lasting transformation starts with kindness. You don’t need to be harder on yourself—you need a better foundation.

✨ You can’t hate yourself better.

✨ But you can love yourself into growth.

  • Ep.46 How To Be Treated Like An Adult
    2025/12/17

Why do some people still treat you like a kid—even when you’re clearly an adult?

In this episode, I dive into a question so many young adults are asking: How do I get treated like an adult by my family, church members, and people who’ve known me forever?

Whether you’re home from college, back from a mission, living at home, newly married, or working full-time, this episode breaks down why this dynamic happens—and what you can do to shift it. Using insights from sociology, personal stories, and practical coaching tools, I explain how adulthood is defined today and why self-perception, responsibility, and presentation play a bigger role than age, marriage, or housing status.

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

    • Why young adults are often still treated like kids
    • How cultural shifts have changed the definition of adulthood
    • The connection between self-image and how others respond to you
    • Simple ways to show up with confidence and maturity
    • Why “adulting” is something you practice—not something you wait to feel ready for
    • How to build respect by treating yourself like an adult first

This episode is for young adults who feel capable but overlooked—and for anyone who wants to step into adulthood with confidence, clarity, and self-trust.

Key takeaway: You don’t become an adult when others decide you are. You become one when you take full responsibility for yourself.

How to build genuine self-love, quiet self-criticism, and embrace growth with gratitude.

Do you struggle with being your own worst critic? You’re not alone. In this episode, I share practical tools for cultivating self-acceptance and self-appreciation—the mindset skills that help you love who you are, even while working toward who you want to become.

You’ll also hear a powerful coaching story about a young woman learning to accept herself without guilt or judgment, plus a simple exercise you can try the next time you’re driving alone.

By the end of this episode, you’ll understand:

  • Ep.43 Thanksgiving Without the Drama: How to Deal with Family Stress and Enjoy the Holiday
    2025/11/26

If Thanksgiving brings you as much stress as it does stuffing, you’re not alone. In this episode, I’m sharing how you can enjoy a calm, meaningful Thanksgiving—even when family dynamics get a little chaotic. I tell some of my own Hallmark-style childhood Thanksgiving memories, and then we get real about what the holiday feels like as an adult when expectations, old patterns, and tension show up right alongside the turkey.

I walk you through the mindset tools I use myself, and that I teach as a life coach, to help you stay grounded, confident, and grateful—no matter what’s happening around the table. You’ll hear how choosing your energy ahead of time, setting emotional boundaries, and recognizing when you’re “full” (mentally and socially!) can completely change your holiday experience.

If you’ve ever found yourself dreading political debates, bracing for comments about your life, or feeling overwhelmed by the noise and expectations, I’ve got you. You really can enjoy the holiday without absorbing everyone else’s stress.

My hope is that this episode helps you create a Thanksgiving that feels peaceful, warm, and maybe even a little magical again—whatever “magical” looks like for you. And yes, I absolutely hope you get an extra scoop of cranberry sauce in my honor.
