概要
Did you know that many pharmaceutical medicines are actually based on herbs? For instance, aspirin originally comes from a plant called white willow bark. Today I interviewed Jane Barlow of Barlow Herbals. Jane’s dad, Max, was considered the OG (ask your kids) or the Godfather of plant-based medicine. Herbal medicine has been around for at least 60,000 to 100,000 years, and maybe even longer. People have used plants for healing long before modern medicine. I asked Jane which three herbs she would bring if she had to live on a deserted island. Her answer was surprising. Okay, you know I can’t keep a secret; one of the herbs is cayenne pepper. You have to listen to the episode to hear why. Her father always carried a small bottle of cayenne pepper for emergencies. Jane shared a story about how he once used it to help a man having a heart attack at a gas station. It was an incredible story. What stood out to me from our conversation is how powerful plants and herbs are. They were our original medicine before pharmaceutical companies existed. Before my experience with cancer, I probably would have chosen a prescription from the doctor. Now that I’ve learned more about plant-based medicine, I’m open to exploring alternatives to traditional pharmaceuticals. ⚠️ A Note About Herbal Safety Herbal products are natural, but that does not always mean they are safe for everyone. Herbs and supplements can cause side effects, trigger allergies, or interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines. Product strength and quality can also vary. Before you try a new herb or supplement, talk to your healthcare provider or pharmacist. This is especially important if you take medication, have a health condition, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Do not stop or replace prescribed medication with herbal remedies without medical advice. Keep in mind that herbal medicine may help support wellness, but it is not a replacement for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. ______ Momentous These are my two favorite products from Momentous: Creatine and Collagen Peptides. I've been using them all summer, and I'm happy to now tell you about them! I like to try products on myself before passing them along to you :)I use the Collagen Peptides in my coffee to add protein. I find it helps stabilize my blood sugar and keep me from getting the coffee "jitters."I've been using creatine for almost three months. One of my favorite benefits is how it helps powers my muscles and mind. Creatine replenishes ATP, your body's primary energy currency, to support strength, power, recovery, lean muscle growth, and cognitive performance. I start with the Vita Exosomes, followed by my 3% Skin Cell Restorative Serum, GHK-Cu copper peptide and Skin Awakening Moisturizer. I’ve been really happy with the changes I’m seeing. My skin looks clearer, feels softer and I’m noticing some of my dry patches disappearing and brown patches fading. The products are an investment, but a little goes a long way. I definitely learned that after using too much in the beginning!Use code: CancerWarrior for 20% off Shop here: www.vitaliskincare.com/pages/deborah-enos_ _____ Connect with Jane Barlow-Christensen Website: barlowherbal.com Socials: LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/jane-barlow-christensen Instagram: www.instagram.com/barlowherbal Facebook: www.facebook.com/barlowherbal Youtube: www.youtube.com/@barlowherbal ______ Connect with Deborah Deborah on Instagram: www.instagram.com/whydidigetcancer Deborah on Facebook: www.facebook.com/DebsHealthCoachKitchen Deborah on Twitter: twitter.com/ydidigetcancer Deborah on Pinterest: in.pinterest.com/whydidigetcancer My newsletter Visit this link to sign up for my newsletter: whydidigetcancerbydeborahenos.myflodesk.com/newslettersignup Learn more about your ad choices.
