  • Too Busy for 10,000 Steps? The 10-Minute Midlife Health Reset with Dr. Ritu Saluja-Sharma
    2026/01/13

Dr. Saluja-Sharma and I discuss how midlife health starts with small, intentional choices — not a total life overhaul. In this episode, we talk midlife wellness, preventative medicine, and why a 10-minute walk actually counts more than 10,000 steps. Progress beats perfection, this conversation is about making healthier choices even when life feels loud and motivation is low.

Forget the scale, we break down realistic healthy habits for midlife, the role of preventative health care, and why daily movement, fresh air, and awareness matter more than extreme fitness plans. If you’re navigating midlife health changes, looking for simple ways to improve your health, or wondering if short walks make a difference (spoiler: they do), this episode is for you.

Midlife wellness made doable — one small choice at a time.

Dr. Ritu Saluja-Sharma is a double board-certified physician in Emergency Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine, and the founder of Head Heart Hands, a holistic wellness program for individuals and organizations. After years of practicing Emergency Medicine on the frontlines of our healthcare system and seeing her patients suffering with diseases that could likely have been prevented (and could potentially still be reversed), she created Head Heart Hands to help people prevent and reverse chronic conditions, improve energy and mood, and enhance overall quality of life. Her programs now serve individuals, corporations, and school systems across diverse communities.Inspired by the powerful transformations she’s seen in adults, she expanded her mission to children—empowering the next generation to understand the power of food and build healthy habits. Her book, companion workbook, and cookbook teach the foundations of lifelong wellness, and these lessons are now being used in the curriculum of one of the largest school districts in the country. She currently advises on state-level health and nutrition curriculum standards.
