このコンテンツについて

The title of our podcast is pretty straightforward. We are looking to hear God in Scripture. We believe proper hermeneutics is rare, that is, the ability to properly read the Bible is not commonly known or practiced. We believers are commanded to know and study the Scriptures. We should also study to properly understand what they say. These Scriptures are God’s words to us. God spoke to us. Now we need to read them right. Not only did God speak, He still speaks. We shouldn’t just read the Scripture to pull it apart and examine it, we should be listening to God, listening for His voice as we read the text. Our hermeneutic is, “the Text is the Master”. We submit to the text. We do not have the right to twist it around to make it say what we want it to say. Rather, we discover what God is saying to us through His Word. Then we submit to whatever He says. So, hear God in the Scriptures. That is what we are trying to do and we invite you to do this with us.© 2025 Austin and Joel キリスト教 スピリチュアリティ 聖職・福音主義

  • 42: They did not Believe (John 9:13-18)
    2025/09/08

    John 9:18

The Jews did not believe that he had been blind and had received his sight, until they called the parents of the man who had received his sight

The Jews/Pharisees did not believe that this man had been blind. He is telling them, repeatedly, that he was blind but now he can see. And yet they did not believe. What causes this unbelief? Why did they, and why do we struggle with believing? Can we become those who open our eyes in wonder and belief and believe that God is doing marvelous things?

  • 41: Compassion for the Desperate and Hungry (Mark 6:30-34)
    2025/09/01

    Mark 6:34
34 When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things.

Jesus sees people who are desperate for the truth, for the life they had seen in Jesus. They are lost. They want to be found. And Jesus has compassion to give them what they are looking for; life, the gospel. May we want Jesus like that.

  • 40: He Sent Them Two by Two (Mark 6:7-13)
    2025/08/25

Jesus teaches his disciples to be witnesses. This job of witnessing is essential for any follower of Jesus. This witnessing is empowered by faith. Living by faith, living totally dependent upon God is the power source for the witness to Jesus.
