  • Self-care, compassion and awareness with Lisa Richer
    2026/10/13

We talked a few weeks ago with Lisa, about kids and special needs and that process as well as the support she offers in that space. Today we are talking again, focusing on self-care and compassion for parents, for moms, not only when our kids are exceptional or during challenging moments, but also in every-day life moments when we give and give and run on empty. What does it look like to recapture that energy? How can we focus on us and still focus on all of the things that life demands?

    Some notes from the show:

  • Demystifying IEPs - Supporting your child's academic success
    2026/09/07

Recently, I recorded a podcast with Lisa Richer, a neurodiversity consultant, about tracking a child's academic progress which can be challenging enough, let alone when there might exist exceptionalities or special support needs. Lisa spoke about her own story through her and her kids education paths, and what the process might look paving a path to an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for your own child. Who do you want on your team, and how to support your own processing.

  • Money, your emotions and your kids

Let's talk about money! Specifically, let's talk about the emotional side of money, and how that relates to you, and how you can help your kids grow up to be financially-savvy.

Dr Huong Diep, clinical psychologist and financial therapist AND EFM, joins me for a conversation about money, our emotions, how our culture and emotions impact our spending and how we can help our kids (esp FS kids) grow up to be financially well.

    Resource links:

Dr Huong Diep's website is https://www.drhdiep.com/

    LinkedIn is https://www.linkedin.com/in/drhdiep/

Dr Diep is licensed in CA, NV, NY, SD, DC, VA (pending) and can provide services to any FSO/EFMs posted abroad. Just a reminder that if folks have the Foreign Service Health Benefit (Aetna) that they can get 75-90% of services reimbursed with a Superbill (clients pay out of pocket first, then I give them an itemized receipt to which they submit to insurance).
