  • Unveiling Inner Trauma Through Somatic Intuition with Lesley Turner

    In this episode, I sit down with Lesley Turner, a somatic practitioner and intuitive coach who previously worked for 11 years as a naturopathic doctor before finding her calling.

    We explore what somatics really means, moving away from logic and into the body to notice sensations, emotions, memories, images, or even phrases that may be connected to symptoms. Lesley talks about the importance of slowing down, approaching the body with compassion, and using simple “allow” statements rather than trying to fix or push things away.

    We also discuss the idea that anxiety and physical symptoms aren’t random, and how they can often reflect deeper emotional or energetic roots. Lesley shares her perspective on trauma too, not as something literally stored in the body, but as patterns created within the nervous system, often shaped during early childhood between the ages of 0 and 7.

    We talk about anxiety as a protective response, how it can actually feel safer to stay anxious, and why rebuilding self trust comes from learning not to abandon yourself or your emotions.

    Lesley shares common themes she sees in her clients, including overwhelm, perimenopause, and what she describes as carrying “suitcases” that don’t belong to you, often inherited patterns or expectations from family.

  • Navigating Health Anxiety in a World of Instant Answers

    In this episode, I share my own experience as a former health anxiety sufferer turned coach, and break down one of the biggest patterns I see keeping people stuck… the urgent need for immediate answers.

    I talk about how the world we live in has conditioned us to expect instant information at the touch of a button, and how this trains the brain to treat normal bodily sensations as problems to solve. This is what drives behaviours like Googling, checking, and seeking reassurance… things that might soothe you in the moment, but actually reinforce fear and keep the cycle going.

    I explain how health anxiety often doesn’t disappear with reassurance, but instead shifts from one symptom to another, and I share a real client example of how daily body-checking can become exhausting and all-consuming.

    This episode is a reminder that there is no quick fix. Real recovery comes from retraining your brain and nervous system through consistent practice.

    I walk you through the key shift that changes everything… learning to tolerate uncertainty, creating space between sensation and response, and focusing on present-moment safety instead of urgency.

    I also share simple ways to start doing this in your day-to-day life, using grounding, breathwork, and attention shifts to help you step out of the cycle and rebuild trust in your body.

  • Inhaling Calm: The Breathwork Revolution in Health Anxiety With Gemma Kelly

    In this episode I sit down with Gemma Kelly, a women’s wellness and breathwork coach. Gemma shares how her own experience of health anxiety after finding a breast lump led her to discover box breathing, which then sparked a deep dive into breathwork training and daily practice.

    We talk about how breath awareness is such a foundational tool for regulating the nervous system, helping shift the body from a state of fear into safety, and how you can use those small “in-between” moments like driving or waiting to actually practise this in real life.

    Gemma explains the benefits of nasal breathing and how mouth breathing can be linked to stress, snoring, and reduced oxygenation. We also touch on the fact that some breath-hold techniques can feel triggering, especially for those with trauma, asthma, or past breathing-related experiences, and why it’s so important to work with trauma-informed, qualified facilitators in what is currently an unregulated space.

    Gemma also shares her “Capacity Reset” 12-week process, which combines stabilisation, nervous system regulation, movement, nutrition, and breathwork, along with details about her breathwork sessions and her Capacity Podcast.
