  • What If Your Body Knows You’re Stressed First
    2026/05/21

    Hypnosis has a branding problem. A lot of us hear the word and instantly think mind control, stage tricks, or losing our agency, which is exactly why it can be such a powerful mirror for what’s happening in our nervous system. After a weekend hypnotherapy workshop with Chris Pizzarello, we sit down to debrief what surprised us most: how quickly “control” and “resistance” show up, and how the body often says yes or no long before the mind can explain it.

    We talk candidly about trust and safety, including how past manipulation and trauma can make hypnosis feel intensely intimate. One of us notices a deeper layer of resistance tied to being guided by a man, and we unpack what that reveals about subconscious protection patterns and how they can spill into relationships even when we consciously feel safe. If you’ve ever thought, “I trust you, but something in me still braces,” you’ll recognize yourself here.

    From there, we connect hypnotherapy to stress relief in a practical way. We explore future-focused thinking, chronic risk mitigation, and fight or flight living that keeps the body on high alert.
