  • Candice's Perfect Animal Kingdom Day
    2026/07/13

Welcome back to Hangin' at the Hangar Bar! After a brief break, Scott and Candice return for the final installment in the "Candice's Perfect Day" series, and this time they're heading to Disney's Animal Kingdom. From safari adventures and grilled corn in Harambe to an afternoon at Nomad Lounge and a nighttime stroll through Pandora, Candice maps out her ideal day in one of Walt Disney World's most immersive parks.

Along the way, the duo discusses why Animal Kingdom feels different from every other Disney park, the importance of slowing down and appreciating the atmosphere, and the attractions that surprisingly didn't make the cut. Plus, they share some practical advice for planning your own Disney vacation—without turning it into an endurance event.

    In this episode:

    • Why Animal Kingdom may be Candice's favorite Disney park
    • The Disney snack cravings currently occupying Scott and Candice's minds
    • Breakfast at Beach Club and coffee (and tea!) from Joffrey's
    • Exploring the Tree of Life carvings and hidden animal trails
    • A morning safari—and hopes of getting delayed by some particularly stubborn giraffes
    • Grilled corn from Harambe Fruit Market
    • Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail and the Harambe performers
    • Revisiting Finding Nemo: The Big Blue... and Beyond!
    • Riding Expedition Everest and saying hello to the Disco Yeti
    • A leisurely late lunch at Tiffins
    • Spending the afternoon relaxing at Nomad Lounge
    • Experiencing Kilimanjaro Safaris at dusk
    • Taking in the glowing beauty of Pandora at night
    • Wrapping up the park day with dinner at Satu'li Canteen
    • Why attractions like Flight of Passage, Festival of the Lion King, and Feathered Friends in Flight didn't make Candice's perfect itinerary
    • Thoughts on Zootopia, DinoLand's closure, and other Animal Kingdom experiences
    • Tips for creating your own "perfect Disney day"
    • Why hydration, rest, and realistic expectations can make or break a vacation
    • Whether Scott's own "Perfect Day" series should be next

As the "Candice's Perfect Day" series comes to a close, Scott and Candice remind listeners that there is no single "right" way to experience Disney. Your perfect vacation doesn't have to look like anyone else's—whether that means rope dropping attractions or spending hours soaking in the atmosphere with a drink in hand.

What would your perfect Animal Kingdom day include? Let us know on social media, and tell us whether you'd like to hear Scott's version of the series next! ✨

  • Has Disney Gone Too Far? Two Big Changes Spark Debate
    2026/06/29
🎙️ **This week at the Hangar Bar, we're diving into two recent Disney announcements that have fans buzzing—and we're asking the bigger question: Are these isolated changes, or are they part of a larger shift in how Disney is operating?**Disney recently announced two significant changes affecting Walt Disney World resorts:🏨 Guests parking at Disney Springs will now need proof of a qualifying Disney resort reservation, dining reservation, or Enchanting Extras experience before boarding transportation to Disney Resort hotels.🎄 Disney has also confirmed that the iconic life-sized gingerbread house at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has officially been retired, with smaller gingerbread displays taking its place during the holidays.Rather than simply reporting the news, Scott and Candice discuss **why** Disney may be making these decisions. Are they protecting the experience for guests paying premium prices to stay at Deluxe Resorts? Closing long-abused loopholes? Managing crowds more effectively? Or is this another sign that Disney is becoming more exclusive?Along the way, the conversation wanders into some of our favorite Disney resorts (Beach Club vs. Old Key West), why guest behavior often forces operational changes, whether nostalgia should outweigh practicality, and the challenge Disney faces balancing guest expectations with rising costs.### In this episode:• Our favorite Walt Disney World resorts (and why)• The end of the Disney Springs transportation "parking hack"• Why Deluxe Resort guests may actually benefit from these changes• The retirement of the Grand Floridian gingerbread house• Whether Disney is losing traditions—or simply evolving them• Is Disney protecting the guest experience or maximizing profits?• Why "people ruin everything" may be the unofficial theme of this episode• A preview of a future discussion about Josh D'Amaro's leadershipWe'd love to hear your thoughts!Do these changes make sense to you, or do you think Disney is taking away part of the magic?Join the conversation on our Facebook page, Instagram, or Discord—we may even feature your thoughts in a future episode!---✨ Follow Hangin' at the Hangar Bar:📘 Facebook: Hangin' at the Hangar Bar📸 Instagram: @hanginatthehangarbarIf you enjoyed today's conversation, we'd love it if you'd follow the podcast, leave a rating, and share the show with another Disney fan. • Candice's Perfect Hollywood Studios Day
    2026/06/22

Welcome back to our ongoing "Candice's Perfect Day" series! This time, we're heading to Disney's Hollywood Studios for a day that's equal parts Toy Story, Star Wars, snacks, and spirited debate.

Before we even make it to the park, we're tackling an important question: what is the catchiest song in all of Disney? (Spoiler: there are strong opinions involved.)

Then it's time for a leisurely morning at Beach Club, breakfast with Mickey waffles, and a boat ride over to Hollywood Studios. From Toy Story Land to Galaxy's Edge, Candice maps out her ideal day—complete with Toy Story Mania, Alien Swirling Saucers, Slinky Dog Dash, Ronto Wraps, Black Caf cold brew, Blue Milk, and a trip aboard Rise of the Resistance.

Along the way, we dive into one of our biggest Disney disagreements yet: why Hollywood Studios is in the running for Scott's favorite park but Candice's least favorite. Is the park brilliant storytelling, or is it Disney's biggest cash grab? We discuss theming, transitions between lands, the loss of the MGM Studios identity, and what Hollywood Studios still needs to become truly cohesive.

Of course, no perfect day is complete without some favorite stops:

    • Baseline Tap House and its giant pretzel and charcuterie board
    • A photo with Sorcerer Mickey
    • Dinner at 50's Prime Time Café
    • Peanut butter and jelly milkshakes and peanut butter chocolate cake
    • One Man's Dream and the new animation experience
    • Evening strolls through Galaxy's Edge and Toy Story Land after dark
    • A nightcap from Hurricane Hanna's back at Beach Club

You'll also hear which Hollywood Studios icons surprisingly do NOT make Candice's must-do list, including Tower of Terror, Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway, Fantasmic!, and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster.

Everyone's perfect Disney day looks different, and that's what makes these conversations so much fun. So tell us: what would YOUR perfect Hollywood Studios day include?

Come join the conversation on Facebook and Instagram, and let us know where you agree with Candice—and where you think she's completely wrong.

Thanks for hanging out with us, and remember...

  • A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow? Disney's Biggest Changes Under Debate.
    2026/06/01

Disney is changing... and we have opinions.

In this episode of Hangin' at the Hangar Bar, Scott and Candice take a break from trip planning and nostalgia to talk about some of the biggest changes happening across Walt Disney World. From major attraction overhauls to entirely new lands, Disney is investing billions into the future of the parks—but are they making the right decisions?

Before we dive in, we start with an important correction regarding Star Tours and Star Wars Launch Bay, proving once again that we are always willing to admit when we get something wrong.

Then we tackle some of the biggest topics currently shaping the future of Walt Disney World:

    • The massive Carousel of Progress refurbishment and why it has Disney fans divided
    • What a Walt Disney Audio-Animatronic means for Disney's future storytelling
    • The transformation of Frontierland and the arrival of Cars-themed Piston Peak
    • Villains Land and whether Disney's biggest expansion in decades can live up to the hype
    • The end of Muppets Courtyard and the arrival of Monstropolis
    • Rock 'n' Roller Coaster starring The Muppets and our first impressions of the reimagined attraction
    • Tropical Americas replacing DinoLand U.S.A. at Disney's Animal Kingdom
    • Indiana Jones, Encanto, Bluey, and the future identity of Animal Kingdom
    • Disney's growing focus on Walt Disney himself as part of the guest experience
    • Whether all of this construction is creating a new Disney Renaissance—or simply a lot of walls

Along the way, we discuss what Disney is getting right, where we're still skeptical, and which projects have us the most excited for the future.

What changes are you most excited about? Which ones make you nervous? Let us know on social media or in our Discord community.

As always, thank you for hanging out with us at the Hangar Bar.
