  • Episode 30: The Battle of Jaran-Manjur - Invasion during Allauddin Khilji

    In the winter of 1297-98, Kadar invaded and ravaged the Punjab region of the Delhi Sultanate, which was ruled by Alauddin Khilji. Mongols reached India by crossing the Sulaiman Mountains crossing the major rivers of the Punjab, and burnt the Khokhar villages. They advanced up to Kasur, near Lahore. When Alauddin learned about the havoc caused by the Mongols, he directed his brother and General Ulugh Khan to march against the invaders.

  • Episode 29: Jeeta Rahe Garhwal - Invasion of Amar Singh Thapa

    Battle of Khurbura also known as Gorkha-Garhwal War occurred in May 1804 near modern-day Dehradun. The battle is regarded as the first major attack in the history of Garhwal Kingdom and was fought between the Kingdom of Nepal and Maharaja Pradyumna Shah, continuing for 13 days until the Garhwal king was defeated. It is chiefly regarded as the only defeat of Pradyumna Shah's life at the hands of Gorkhali forces.

  • Episode 28: The Patriot - Manipur’s Revolt

    The Anglo- Manipuri War of 1891 is one of the most important events in the history of Manipur. In the war against the British colonial expansion, many martyrs of the tiny kingdom of Manipur laid down their lives to save the dignity, honour and sovereignty of their motherland despite the inevitable defeat against the mighty British empire. After the defeat at the Battle of Khongjom where the Manipuri armies fought gallantly under Major Paona Brajabashi, Manipur lost its sovereignty to the British. On the fateful day of 13th August 1891, martyrs of Manipur- Yubraj Tikendrajit, Thangal General were hanged in front of the public at Pheidabung, presently known as Bir Tikendrajit park. August 13 is commemorated annually as "Patriots Day" in Manipur, to honour the Manipuri soldiers that lost their lives during the war.

  • Episode 27: Hum Azaad Hain – Nagaland invasion of EIC

    In 1828, Britain annexed Assam following the Treaty of Yandabo in 1826. Not long after, the Nagas also came in contact with the British. Historians recorded that the Nagas resisted outside forces trespassing into their territory. Stories of fierce battles and clashes have been recorded.

    There were three Burmese invasions of Assam between 1817 and 1826, during which time the Ahom Kingdom came under the control of Burma from 1821 to 1825. Locally, this period is called the Manor Din, period of horror, by Assamese people. These repeated invasions & subsequent emigrations left the Ahom kingdom in shambles

  • Episode 25: Tormana – Invasion of Huns

    The Indo-Hephthalites (also known as the White Huns or Hunas) invaded India from the northwest during Skandagupta's reign, advancing as far as the Indus River. Skandagupta defeated the Huns according to inscriptions on the Bhitari pillar. The date of the Hun invasion is unknown. It is however mentioned in the Bhitari inscription after describing the conflict with the Pushyamitras (or the Yudhyamitras), implying that it occurred later during Skandagupta's reign

    Chuar rebellion also known as Jungle Mahal movement was a series of peasant movements between 1766 to 1809 by the tribal inhabitants of the Jungle Mahals settlements of Midnapore, Bankura and Manbhum against the rule of the East India Company. This was the first revolt against the East India Company in Chotanagpur areas of Bengal Presidency (now West Bengal and Jharkhand).

  • Episode 23: Kali Mirch - Martanda Varma

    The Battle of Colachel was fought on 10 August 1741 between the kingdoms of Travancore and Dutch East India Company. During the War, King Marthanda Varma defeated the Dutch East India Company's forces led by Admiral Eustachius De Lannoy. The Dutch never recovered from the defeat and no longer posed a large colonial threat to India.
