What happens when the world around you shapes how you see yourself?
In this episode, we’re having a real and honest conversation about identity, marginalization, and the internal impact of navigating spaces where you don’t always feel fully seen, understood, or accepted.
Our guest shares his experience growing up between identities with a white father and Black mother, and how experiences of racism, isolation, and not fully belonging led to struggles with self-perception and self-worth. But this conversation goes beyond what he’s been through. We explore what it takes to make meaning of those experiences, to unlearn internalized narratives, and to begin the process of self-acceptance.
We also talk about the realities that extend beyond positive thinking; acknowledging the weight of intergenerational trauma and how it continues to influence how we move through the world, especially for African-Americans.
This episode is for anyone who has ever questioned where they belong, struggled with how they see themselves, or is learning how to grow through experiences that shaped them.
This is a conversation about truth, identity, and what it really means to grow through what we go through.

How often are you abandoning yourself… without even realizing it?

Self-abandonment isn’t always loud or obvious. It doesn’t always look like walking away from your dreams or completely losing yourself. Sometimes, it’s much more subtle. It’s saying yes when you want to say no. It’s prioritizing everyone else’s needs over your own. It’s chasing validation, approval, or success while feeling disconnected, unfulfilled, or unsure of who you really are.

In this episode, we’re unpacking sneaky self-abandonment, the hidden ways we outsource our power, silence our needs, and live according to expectations instead of truth. You’ll learn why these patterns develop, how they show up in your everyday life, and most importantly, how to start reclaiming yourself in small, meaningful ways.

This is your invitation to pause, reflect, and begin choosing yourself again.

    In this episode, we explore:

    • What self-abandonment really is (and why it’s often hard to recognize)
    • The psychological patterns behind people-pleasing and external validation
    • Real-life examples of sneaky self-abandonment
    • Simple, practical ways to reconnect with yourself

    Call to Action:

This week, notice one moment where you might be abandoning yourself. Pause, check in, and choose differently, even in a small way.

If this resonates, share this episode with someone who needs this reminder, and take a moment to ask yourself: Where am I ready to choose me?

What does it really mean to be an empath or a highly sensitive person, and how do you care for yourself in a world that often feels overwhelming?
In this episode, I’m joined by a self-care coach to explore the lived experiences of empaths and highly sensitive people (HSPs). We unpack the differences and overlaps between these identities, why so many people are beginning to resonate with these terms, and how understanding yourself on this level can be both validating and transformative.
We also talk about why self-care isn’t one-size-fits-all. For people who feel deeply, traditional approaches to self-care may fall short. This conversation offers a more personalized lens, one that considers your nervous system, your emotional depth, and your need for boundaries that actually protect your energy.
    Together, we explore:
    • How to identify whether you may be an empath or highly sensitive
    • The strengths and challenges of sensitivity in the workplace
    • How these traits show up in romantic relationships
    • Practical ways to build healthier boundaries
    • Why your sensitivity may be one of your greatest strengths
