(soundcloud.com / andoryukesuta)@andoryukesuta In 1995, four-year-old Kevin injures himself in an incident that his six-year-old sister Kaylee attributes to sleepwalking. Kevin is taken to a hospital and brought back home. The siblings wake up in the middle of the night to find that their father has disappeared and that the windows, doors, and other objects in their house are gradually vanishing. Kevin suggests they sleep downstairs, where they watch cartoons on television. They awaken to find the house still dark, hear an unexplained thumping noise, and find a chair upside-down on the ceiling. Kevin then suggests that their father "went with mom," but Kaylee requests that they do not discuss their mother. The toilet in the downstairs bathroom disappears. On their way to the upstairs bathroom, Kaylee sees a doll on a bedroom ceiling and Kevin ends up too frightened to use the toilet, so they decide to place two buckets in the downstairs bathroom. A mysterious voice calls to Kaylee from the darkness and tells her to come upstairs, where she sees their father in a bedroom. He tells her to look under the bed, but she does not see anything. She then sees their mother sitting on the bed. Her mother says that she and their father love Kaylee and Kevin, and instructs her to close her eyes before vanishing. Kaylee looks at the open closet and hears her mother say "there's someone here". From the closet, she hears her mother calling her name as well as moans of pain and bones breaking. She is startled by a hand reaching around a corner and panics. Kaylee runs downstairs, where Kevin helps her push the couch to block off the hallway from which the voice was calling her. When Kevin falls asleep, the voice calls Kaylee again. When Kevin wakes up, he sees that Kaylee is gone and toys and objects are suspended against a wall. The voice beckons Kevin into the basement, where he sees Kaylee, who no longer has eyes or a mouth. The voice tells him it wants to play as some of the toys begin to disappear. A drawer opens in the kitchen, and Kevin complies with the voice's command to insert a knife into one of his eyes. Kevin calls 9-1-1 and tells the operator he was hurt and feels sick. The operator tells him to stay on the line and that adults are on their way. Kevin informs the operator that the doors have disappeared before dropping the phone, which then turns into a Chatter Telephone toy. The voice claims responsibility for this, telling Kevin that it can "do anything". It says that Kaylee disobeyed it and demanded to see her parents, so it took away her mouth. The voice tells Kevin to come upstairs. Holding a flashlight, Kevin finds himself on the ceiling. He walks into a bedroom which becomes a void, and a dollhouse is shown sitting on a pile of toys in a seemingly infinite hallway as onscreen text reads "572 days". Kaylee is seen sitting on the bed; her body slowly fades away, followed by her head. Photos are shown of people with their faces either missing or distorted. Kevin cries out as blood splatters onto the floor, then disappears and splatters repeatedly. He asks Kaylee if they can watch "something happy", followed by an apparition of a door. In the dark, an unidentifiable face appears over him in his bed and tells him to go to sleep. Kevin asks the face what its name is twice. It does not respond.

Days later, her body is found in a stormwater drainage basin. Her parents, Russell and June, are called to identify the remains. Russell confirms the identity, but June refuses to view the body. Ten days after the funeral, Alice's brother Mathew develops unexplained bruises, and the family begins hearing strange noises. Russell reports an aggressive encounter with an apparition, while June experiences recurring nightmares of Alice's drenched corpse. Mathew takes up photography and appears to capture Alice's figure in the backyard and in a photograph taken at the lake. Hoping Alice may still be alive, the Palmers request an exhumation and DNA test, which confirms that the body is hers. Meanwhile, Mathew installs cameras around the house to record apparent sightings of Alice. June consults self-proclaimed psychic Ray Kemeney, who conducts a séance but cannot explain the phenomena. Months later, Mathew confesses that he fabricated the ghostly photographs and videos to persuade his parents to exhume Alice's body, allowing June another opportunity to see her and find closure. A home video recorded while the family is away appears to show Alice's apparition and their neighbour Brett Toohey, whom Alice had babysat for, searching her bedroom. June subsequently discovers a hidden videotape showing Alice in a threesome with Brett and his wife, Marissa. Russell concludes that Brett was searching for the tape after learning of Alice's death. The Tooheys soon sell their house and disappear. The Palmers are informed that legal action would probably result only in a suspended sentence, as the encounter would be considered consensual. Ray later reveals that Alice visited him months before her death, describing recurring dreams about drowning and death, as well as her fear that her mother would be unable to see or help her. She had also recorded these fears in her journal. Alice's boyfriend, Jason Whittle, provides mobile phone footage from a school trip to Lake Mungo, showing Alice burying something beneath a tree. The Palmers visit the site and recover her phone. Its footage shows Alice walking along the shoreline at night before encountering a bloated, disfigured version of herself, identical to the body recovered at the dam, floating slowly towards her.

(soundcloud.com / andoryukesuta)@andoryukesuta The opening text explains that the footage shown was confiscated by the U.S. government in 2009, until an anonymous source leaked it for the entire world to see. Claridge, a town located on Maryland's Eastern Shore, thrives on its water supply. Consequently, the nearby chicken farm has come under fire for polluting the Chesapeake Bay by dumping chicken excrement and other toxins into the water. As rookie reporter Donna Thompson covers a local Fourth of July celebration, dozens of citizens fall violently ill and exhibit severe lesions. Overwhelmed with patients, Dr. Jack Abrams, the head of the Atlantic Hospital, contacts the CDC, which initially believes a viral outbreak is the cause. The town descends into chaos as people begin dying en masse within hours: the first casualty is reported by Claridge police that afternoon. Later on, a 911 call is made by a distraught woman reporting that her neighbor is wandering on her property, covered in boils and screaming in agony. Teenager Denise Button and her boyfriend are attacked and killed by an unknown animal while swimming in a creek. Their bodies are never found, but a 12-year-old discovers the camera that documented the incident. Meanwhile, several citizens report bizarre symptoms, including the feeling of bugs in their bodies. A few months before the outbreak, oceanographers Sam and Jaqueline discovered high toxicity levels in the bay. After encountering multiple fish eaten from the inside out, they realized that the true culprit was massive, mutated tongue-eating lice. The bay water was polluted by massive amounts of excrement from chickens, who were fed steroids for rapid growth. Because of this, the isopods proliferated tremendously, killing off millions of fish and causing 40% of the bay to become lifeless. The lesions result from the isopods eating their hosts from the inside out. Sam and Jaqueline attempted to alert city authorities, but the mayor, John Stockman, ignored the warnings. A swarm of fully-grown isopods eventually killed Sam and Jaqueline and their bodies were later discovered. The Talmet family, consisting of Alex, Stephanie, and their infant son Andrew, sail to Claridge, unaware of the danger, as the town has been forcibly quarantined and local law enforcement has shut down cell towers. The isopods have also infected Stephanie's parents. Two deputies, Jimson and Paul, answer a call concerning someone screaming in pain; in a digitally enhanced audio recording, Jimson encounters an infected family begging to be killed. Having gone insane from seeing what has happened, he euthanizes them and subsequently murders Paul after one of the isopods bites him. After being confronted by Stockman and Sheriff Lee Roberts, the lesion-covered Jimson kills Roberts and himself. Stockman attempts to flee in Roberts' police car, only to be killed in a collision.

(soundcloud.com / andoryukesuta)@andoryukesuta In the 1890s, Ephraim Winslow begins a four-week stint as a "wickie" (lighthouse keeper) on an isolated island off the coast of New England, under the supervision of former sailor Thomas Wake. Winslow discovers a small scrimshaw of a mermaid and keeps it in his jacket. Wake proves to be demanding, and Winslow empties chamber pots, maintains the machinery, carries heavy kerosene tanks up the stairs, and paints the lighthouse. Wake bars Winslow from the lantern room; Winslow discovers Wake disrobes before the light every night. During his stay on the island, Winslow begins to hallucinate sea monsters and logs floating in the sea, and masturbates to the mermaid on the scrimshaw. Winslow is bothered by a one-eyed gull, but Wake warns him against killing it under the superstitious belief that gulls are reincarnated sailors. Wake reveals to Winslow that his previous wickie died after losing his sanity. Winslow tells Wake he's a former timberman from Maine who was stationed in Canada and is now seeking a new trade. The day before his scheduled departure, Winslow discovers a dead gull fouling the drinking water in the cistern. The one-eyed gull attacks him and he bludgeons it to death. The wind drastically changes and Winslow and Wake spend the night getting drunk during a severe storm that prevents the lighthouse tender from collecting them. As Winslow empties the chamber pots, he discovers the beached body of a mermaid, which waves and howls at him. He flees back to the cottage, where Wake informs him the storm has spoiled their rations. Winslow assumes the tender is merely a day late, but Wake says that they have already been stranded for weeks. As the storm continues to rage, Winslow and Wake get drunk every night and alternate between moments of intimacy and hostility. One night, Winslow tries unsuccessfully to steal the lantern room keys from Wake and contemplates murdering him. Winslow later sees the one-eyed head of Wake's previous wickie in a lobster trap. Winslow drunkenly confesses to Wake that his real name is Thomas Howard, and he assumed the identity of Ephraim Winslow, a cruel foreman in Canada whom he deliberately allowed to drown during a log drive. Howard has a menacing vision of Wake accusing Howard of "spilling [his] beans" and runs to the dory to try to leave the island. Wake destroys the boat with an axe. Back at their lodgings, Wake claims it was Howard who hacked up the dory, driven mad by his confession. Howard and Wake run out of alcohol and turn to drinking sweetened turpentine. That night, a giant wave crashes through the wall of their cottage and floods it. In the morning, Howard finds Wake's logbook, in which Wake has criticized him as a drunken and incompetent employee and recommended he be fired without pay. The two men argue, and Howard attacks Wake while hallucinating the mermaid, the real Winslow, and Wake as a Proteus-like figure. Howard beats Wake into submission and takes him to the hole at the base of the lighthouse to bury him alive. Before losing consciousness, Wake describes a "Promethean" punishment that awaits those who look in the lantern, and Howard takes the keys to the lantern room. Howard goes to get a cigarette, and Wake returns and strikes him with the axe. Howard disarms and kills Wake before ascending the lighthouse. In the lantern room, the Fresnel lens opens to Howard, who reaches in and screams before falling down the lighthouse steps. Howard ends up lying nude on the rocks with a damaged eye as a flock of gulls peck at his exposed organs.

(soundcloud.com / andoryukesuta)@andoryukesuta In 1931 Los Angeles, the staff of the Vannacutt Psychiatric Institute for the Criminally Insane (headed by the sadistic Dr. Richard B. Vannacutt; a psychiatrist conducting cruel and torturous medical experiments) are under attack during a revolt by the patients. A fire erupts, killing Vannacutt, the inmates, and all but five of the staff. In 1999, Evelyn Stockard-Price is in a disintegrating marriage with Stephen Price, an amusement park mogul known for his elaborate pranks. At Evelyn's insistence, Price stages her birthday party at the abandoned hospital, which has been partly converted into a residence. Five guests arrive: baseball player Eddie Baker; former television personality Melissa Marr; physician Donald Blackburn; Sara Wolfe, a production assistant impersonating her former boss, Jennifer; and Pritchett, the building's owner. The guests are not the ones Price invited and neither of the Prices know who they are. Despite this, Price continues the party's advertised theme, offering $1 million to each guest who remains in the house until morning; those who flee or perish forfeit their $1 million to the others. The building's security system is tripped, locking everyone inside – a stunt which Price and Evelyn blame on each other. Sara, Eddie, and Pritchett search the labyrinthine basement for a control panel. Sara becomes separated from Eddie and is nearly pulled into a tank of blood by a doppelgänger impersonating him. Melissa disappears, leaving behind a trail of blood and a camcorder showing her apparent murder. Price visits his assistant Schechter, who is overseeing the party stunts, but finds him horribly mutilated. On the surveillance monitor he sees an apparition of Dr. Vannacutt armed with a bloody saw. Evelyn seemingly dies in front of the others, strapped to an electroshock therapy table. Price pulls a gun on the guests, demanding to know who killed his wife, before they turn on him and lock him inside the "Saturation Chamber", an archaic zoetrope device that Vannacutt used to treat schizophrenics. Blackburn volunteers to guard Price. When the others leave, he turns the chamber on, leaving Price to be tortured by the moving images. In Vannacutt's office, Sara and Eddie find a portrait of the hospital's staff and realize that the Prices and invited party guests, with the exception of Blackburn, are descendants of the five survivors of the 1931 fire. Sara surmises that the spirits hacked Price's computer and altered the guest list. Blackburn and Evelyn are revealed to be lovers who faked Evelyn's death, plotting to frame Price and hoping one of the guests will kill him in self-defense. Fearing the guests are not yet motivated to turn on Price, Evelyn kills Blackburn, then frees a delirious Price. Sara, Eddie, and Pritchett discover Evelyn's body is missing and return to the chamber, where they find Blackburn's decapitated corpse. After Sara shoots Price in the basement, Evelyn comes to gloat over his body, but Price, protected by a bulletproof vest and posing as dead, attacks her. As they scuffle, Evelyn is thrown through a decaying door, unleashing an evil, amorphous entity composed of the spirits of the house.

Across the room is oncologist Dr. Lawrence Gordon, and between them is the corpse of a suicide victim holding a revolver and a microcassette recorder. Both men find a tape in their pockets, and Adam retrieves the recorder. Adam's tape urges him to survive, while Lawrence's tape orders him to kill Adam by 6:00, or his wife, Alison, and daughter, Diana, will be murdered. After listening to the tapes, the duo uncovers a clue leading Adam to find a bag containing two hacksaws inside the toilet. Both men try to saw through their chains, but Adam's saw breaks. Lawrence realizes that the saws are intended for their feet, and identifies their captor as the Jigsaw Killer, a serial killer who tests his victims' will to survive through murderous contraptions known as "games"; Lawrence knows about him because he was once a suspect. Five months prior, Lawrence, after discussing the terminal brain cancer of patient John Kramer with his medical interns, was interrogated by detectives David Tapp and Steven Sing, who found his penlight at the scene of one of Jigsaw's games. Lawrence's alibi cleared him, but he agreed to view the testimony of heroin addict Amanda Young, the only known survivor of one of Jigsaw's traps. Tapp and Sing later found Jigsaw's warehouse using the videotape from Amanda's game. There, they detained Jigsaw and saved a man from a trap, but Jigsaw managed to escape after he critically injured Tapp; Sing was killed by a shotgun trap. In the present, Alison and Diana are tied up and gagged in their apartment, as their captor watches Adam and Lawrence through a hidden camera. The house is simultaneously watched by Tapp who, after being discharged from the police following Sing's death, has become obsessed with the Jigsaw case, and remains convinced that Lawrence is the killer. Meanwhile, Lawrence finds a box containing two cigarettes, a lighter, and a one-way cellphone. Adam asks Lawrence for the cigarette but Lawrence discourages this. He recounts his abduction in a parking garage by a pig-masked figure. Adam recalls his own abduction when he returned home to find a puppet in his darkroom, where he stored photos of Lawrence.

(soundcloud.com / andoryukesuta)@andoryukesuta In Morocco, a hedonist named Frank Cotton buys a puzzle box said to open the door to a realm of otherworldly pleasure. At home in his bare attic, Frank solves the puzzle, and hooked chains emerge, tearing him apart. Later, Frank's brother Larry moves into the same house. He intends to rebuild his relationship with his second wife, Julia, but is unaware that she had an affair with Frank before their marriage. When Larry accidentally cuts his hand moving furniture, his blood drips beneath the attic floor where Frank's organic remains lie undiscovered, which resurrects Frank in a ghoulish form. Julia later finds Frank; still obsessed with him, she agrees to help restore his body, so they can run away together. Julia picks up men in bars and brings them back to the attic, where she mortally wounds them. Frank then drains their life, which regenerates his body. Frank explains to Julia that, having exhausted all sensory experiences, he sought out the puzzle box, which was supposed to provide access to a realm of new carnal pleasures. When the puzzle was solved, the "Cenobites" came to subject him to extreme sadomasochism. Kirsty, Larry's teenage daughter and Frank's niece, sees Julia bringing a man to the house and follows her to the attic, where she finds Frank. She evades Frank and escapes with the puzzle box, collapsing shortly thereafter. Awakening in a hospital, Kirsty opens the box out of curiosity, unknowingly summoning the Cenobites and a monster called the Engineer, from which she narrowly escapes. The Cenobites' leader[Note 1] explains that, although they have been perceived as both angels and demons, they are simply "explorers" from another dimension seeking carnal experiences and can no longer distinguish between pain and pleasure. When they attempt to force Kirsty to return to their realm, she informs Pinhead that Frank has escaped. The Cenobites agree to spare Kirsty and recapture Frank instead, with the condition that Frank must confess to escaping them.

During the drive back home, the doll summons spirits to attack Ed. Annabelle is locked in a sacred glass case in the couple's artifacts room to ensure the evil is contained, with the help of Father Gordon. One year later, the Warrens welcome Mary Ellen who will be babysitting their daughter Judy, while they travel overnight to investigate a case. At school, Judy notices a ghostly priest following her. Judy's birthday is coming up and she tries to invite her classmates who reject the invitation because they think Judy is a freak due to her parents' work. Mary Ellen decides to have an early birthday celebration for Judy. Her friend Daniela arrives uninvited to the Warrens' home. The real reason she came is to try and speak to her deceased father's spirit to apologize to him for a car accident that killed him, for which Daniela blames herself. She sneaks into the artifacts room and inadvertently releases the spirit of Annabelle "Bee" Mullins. Annabelle releases other spirits such as the Ferryman, the Bride, a Feeley Meeley board game, and the Black Shuck, who start wreaking havoc around the house. Mary Ellen's crush Bob Palmeri arrives and is attacked by the Black Shuck. Judy and Mary Ellen are confronted by other spirits. Daniela sneaks back into the house to return the artifacts room's keys. She gets locked inside and is tormented by the haunted objects. Upstairs, Mary Ellen is tormented by the Ferryman, whose last victim has a striking resemblance to Mary Ellen. She escapes and runs to Judy's room, where the young girl is being attacked by the Annabelle doll and the demon. The girls try to reach Lorraine but are unable to get through. They end up going into the artifact room and encounter Daniela and rescue her. Judy explains that they must lock Annabelle back in her case so that the other spirits can rest. Bob protects Judy from the Black Shuck while she retrieves Mary Ellen's asthma inhaler, and Daniela is possessed by the Bride. Mary Ellen and Judy find the doll when the ghostly priest, acting as Judy's guardian, guides them to the Ferryman. They retrieve the key to the case but struggle when the Feeley Meeley board game and the demon of the doll attack them. Daniela recovers when Judy plays Ed's recorded footage of the Bride's exorcism. After the doll is placed back in the case and locked, the disturbances cease. Ed and Lorraine return the next morning. At Judy's birthday party all of Judy's classmates arrive. Lorraine takes Daniela back into the artifact room where Daniela apologizes her action. Lorraine then gives her a comforting message from her father.
