In this episode of the Grace & Truth Podcast, Rev. Elizabeth Crosby and David Sears wrestle with the question: What are we pouring our lives into, and does it really matter?

This is part three of our Pressing On series, exploring Philippians 3:4–14 and the Apostle Paul’s powerful reminder that things the world considers valuable cannot compare to knowing Jesus Christ.

In this text, Paul reminds us that our accomplishments cannot save us, our worth is found in Jesus, and our faith calls us to press on toward the goal of knowing Christ and participating in God’s kingdom here on earth. We don’t serve, love, and care for others to earn God’s grace. We do it because we have experienced His goodness and want others to experience it, too.

In this episode of the Grace & Truth Podcast, Rev. Elizabeth Crosby and David Sears begin a new series, “Pressing On,” a journey through Philippians. This sermon looks at Philippians 2:1-13 and wrestles with the following questions: How do we press on together in full accord? And how do we live well as a community? The Apostle Paul says the key to this is to be of the same mind as Christ. This does not mean we all have to think the same or always agree. Rather, it’s a call to be like Christ and embody a spirit of humility and grace.
