Salvation in Galatians... We are saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. The doctrine of justification... We are right before God the Judge. The doctrine of adoption... We are loved by God the Father. The Adoptive Father... God sent His Son so that we might receive the position of sons Adoption requires someone who comes at the right time. It was the right time theologically. It was the right time religiously. It was the right time culturally. It was the right time politically. Adoption requires someone who possesses the right qualifications. Jesus is fully divine. Jesus is fully human. Jesus is fully righteous. Adoption requires someone who has the right resolve. He determined to redeem us. He died to rescue us God sent His Spirit so that we might experience the privileges of sonship. Because we’ve been adopted, we live with a new identity before God. We are baptized into Christ. We are clothed with Christ. We are united in Christ. We each belong to Christ. Because we’ve been adopted, we enjoy intimacy with God. We were once held captive by His law. Now we’re captivated by His love Because we’ve been adopted, we are guaranteed an inheritance from God We have an eternal Father. We have an eternal family. We have an eternal home Grace Baptist Church of Second Life GRACE BAPTIST PODCAST HTTPS://PODPOINT.COM/GRACE-BAPTIST-CHURCH-OF-SECOND-LIFE-PODCAST WEBSITE https://gracebaptistofsecondlife.godaddysites.com

The Portrait of God (Revelation 4–5) WATCH US ON YOUTUBE LIVE @ http://www.youtube.com/gracechurch-slus/live https://www.podbean.com/lsw/Grace1?lsid=pwyb2tEqubX 1 God the Father He sits at the center of the universe. He dwells in unapproachable light. He is surrounded by unending praise. He is the Judge of every man. He tempers wrath with mercy. He is holy above all. He has power over all. He is infinitely timeless. He is infinitely glorious. He is supreme above all things. He is the sustainer of all things. He is sovereign over all things. 2. God the Son He is the conquering Lion. He is the slaughtered Lamb. His worth is undisputed. His work is unforgettable. His worship is universal. 3. God the Spirit He is omnipresent. He is omniscient. He is omnipotent. He enacts judgment. IV. The Mystery of the Trinity God is three persons. Each person is fully God. There is one God. V. The Point for Us The glory of God compels us to receive salvation. God holds the future glorification of believers in His hand. God holds the final damnation of unbelievers in His hand. Cry out for the mercy of Christ or collapse under the judgment of Christ. The glory of God empowers us to escape temptation. We overcome idolatry by glimpsing a greater God. We fight immorality through fulfillment in our Father. We refuse to compromise in light of the example of Christ. We resist complacency in view of the excellency of Christ. C.) The glory of God enables us to endure tribulation. Our God is in control. Our enemy has been conquered. Our suffering will one day conclude. 6) The glory of God motivates us to accomplish mission. Let’s pray passionately. Let’s give sacrificially. Let’s go confidently. Let’s die willingly. FREED IN CHRIST – Galatians 3 WATCH US ON YOUTUBE LIVE @ http://www.youtube.com/gracechurch-slus/live Climbing the Mountain of Galatians 3 1. Abraham – The necessity of faith. Moses – The futility of the flesh. Christ – The price of our freedom. Grace alone through faith alone. I. God’s Covenant with Abraham – The Necessity of Faith By Grace Alone, God Blesses His People God initiates His covenant with Abraham (Genesis 12:1–3). Abraham brings nothing to the table; God brings everything. Genesis 15 shows God alone passing through the covenant pieces while Abraham sleeps—demonstrating a unilateral covenant of grace. “Abram believed the LORD, and He credited it to him as righteousness.” (Genesis15:6) Through Faith Alone, God’s People Receive His Blessing Abraham is justified not by works, but by believing God. Paul emphasizes this in Galatians 3:6–9. Circumcision came after Abraham’s justification (Genesis 17), proving that works do not produce righteousness. Faith Leads to Radical Obedience Faith is not passive; it transforms how we live. Hebrews 11 shows men and women who lived boldly because they believed God. John Bunyan’s testimony illustrates the freedom that comes from seeing Christ as our righteousness. II. God’s Covenant with Moses – The Futility of the Flesh II. God’s Covenant with Moses – The Futility of the Flesh The Law Does Not Replace the Promise The Judaizers claimed Moses’ law superseded Abraham’s promise. Paul argues the opposite: the law complements the promise; it does not contradict it (Galatians 3:15–18). The Law Reveals Our Sinfulness We all disobey the law of God. (Galatians 3:10) The law demands perfect obedience. The law exposes and intensifies sin (Romans 5:20). We all deserve the wrath of God. Deuteronomy 27 pronounces curses on all who fail to keep the law. The law leaves us condemned and helpless. Luther: “The principal point of the law is to make men not better, but worse… that they may be driven to seek grace.” The Law Imprisons Us Until Christ Sets Us Free Galatians 3:22–24 describes the law as a jailer. Its purpose: to drive us to Christ. III. God’s Covenant Through Christ – The Price of Freedom Jesus Fulfills the Law of Moses He obeys the law perfectly for us. He endures the wrath of God instead of us. Jesus Completes the Promise to Abraham Christ is the promised Seed (Galatians 3:16). Through Him, all nations are blessed. Salvation has always been by grace through faith—in Christ alone. By Grace Alone, He Gives Salvation to Us Christianity is not moral improvement; it is new life. Galatians 2:20: We are crucified with Christ; He is our life. Through Faith Alone, We Receive His Spirit Galatians 3:14: The blessing of Abraham is the Spirit. The Spirit transforms us from the inside out. The Spirit continually points our hearts to Christ. “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us.” (Galatians 3:13) Conclusion: Look to Christ For the unbeliever: Believe God, and righteousness is credited to you. For the believer: Your victory is not in trying harder—it is in Christ. Fix your heart on Him. He is your righteousness, peace, joy, and life. “We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.” Grace Baptist Church of Second Life GRACE BAPTIST PODCAST HTTPS://PODPOINT.COM/GRACE-BAPTIST-CHURCH-OF-SECOND-LIFE-PODCAST WEBSITE https://gracebaptistofsecondlife.godaddysites.com
