Salvation in Galatians... We are saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. The doctrine of justification... We are right before God the Judge. The doctrine of adoption... We are loved by God the Father. The Adoptive Father... God sent His Son so that we might receive the position of sons Adoption requires someone who comes at the right time. It was the right time theologically. It was the right time religiously. It was the right time culturally. It was the right time politically. Adoption requires someone who possesses the right qualifications. Jesus is fully divine. Jesus is fully human. Jesus is fully righteous. Adoption requires someone who has the right resolve. He determined to redeem us. He died to rescue us God sent His Spirit so that we might experience the privileges of sonship. Because we’ve been adopted, we live with a new identity before God. We are baptized into Christ. We are clothed with Christ. We are united in Christ. We each belong to Christ. Because we’ve been adopted, we enjoy intimacy with God. We were once held captive by His law. Now we’re captivated by His love Because we’ve been adopted, we are guaranteed an inheritance from God We have an eternal Father. We have an eternal family. We have an eternal home Grace Baptist Church of Second Life GRACE BAPTIST PODCAST HTTPS://PODPOINT.COM/GRACE-BAPTIST-CHURCH-OF-SECOND-LIFE-PODCAST WEBSITE https://gracebaptistofsecondlife.godaddysites.com

The Portrait of God (Revelation 4–5) WATCH US ON YOUTUBE LIVE @ http://www.youtube.com/gracechurch-slus/live https://www.podbean.com/lsw/Grace1?lsid=pwyb2tEqubX 1 God the Father He sits at the center of the universe. He dwells in unapproachable light. He is surrounded by unending praise. He is the Judge of every man. He tempers wrath with mercy. He is holy above all. He has power over all. He is infinitely timeless. He is infinitely glorious. He is supreme above all things. He is the sustainer of all things. He is sovereign over all things. 2. God the Son He is the conquering Lion. He is the slaughtered Lamb. His worth is undisputed. His work is unforgettable. His worship is universal. 3. God the Spirit He is omnipresent. He is omniscient. He is omnipotent. He enacts judgment. IV. The Mystery of the Trinity God is three persons. Each person is fully God. There is one God. V. The Point for Us The glory of God compels us to receive salvation. God holds the future glorification of believers in His hand. God holds the final damnation of unbelievers in His hand. Cry out for the mercy of Christ or collapse under the judgment of Christ. The glory of God empowers us to escape temptation. We overcome idolatry by glimpsing a greater God. We fight immorality through fulfillment in our Father. We refuse to compromise in light of the example of Christ. We resist complacency in view of the excellency of Christ. C.) The glory of God enables us to endure tribulation. Our God is in control. Our enemy has been conquered. Our suffering will one day conclude. 6) The glory of God motivates us to accomplish mission. Let’s pray passionately. Let’s give sacrificially. Let’s go confidently. Let’s die willingly. FREED IN CHRIST – Galatians 3 WATCH US ON YOUTUBE LIVE @ http://www.youtube.com/gracechurch-slus/live Climbing the Mountain of Galatians 3 1. Abraham – The necessity of faith. Moses – The futility of the flesh. Christ – The price of our freedom. Grace alone through faith alone. I. God’s Covenant with Abraham – The Necessity of Faith By Grace Alone, God Blesses His People God initiates His covenant with Abraham (Genesis 12:1–3). Abraham brings nothing to the table; God brings everything. Genesis 15 shows God alone passing through the covenant pieces while Abraham sleeps—demonstrating a unilateral covenant of grace. “Abram believed the LORD, and He credited it to him as righteousness.” (Genesis15:6) Through Faith Alone, God’s People Receive His Blessing Abraham is justified not by works, but by believing God. Paul emphasizes this in Galatians 3:6–9. Circumcision came after Abraham’s justification (Genesis 17), proving that works do not produce righteousness. Faith Leads to Radical Obedience Faith is not passive; it transforms how we live. Hebrews 11 shows men and women who lived boldly because they believed God. John Bunyan’s testimony illustrates the freedom that comes from seeing Christ as our righteousness. II. God’s Covenant with Moses – The Futility of the Flesh II. God’s Covenant with Moses – The Futility of the Flesh The Law Does Not Replace the Promise The Judaizers claimed Moses’ law superseded Abraham’s promise. Paul argues the opposite: the law complements the promise; it does not contradict it (Galatians 3:15–18). The Law Reveals Our Sinfulness We all disobey the law of God. (Galatians 3:10) The law demands perfect obedience. The law exposes and intensifies sin (Romans 5:20). We all deserve the wrath of God. Deuteronomy 27 pronounces curses on all who fail to keep the law. The law leaves us condemned and helpless. Luther: “The principal point of the law is to make men not better, but worse… that they may be driven to seek grace.” The Law Imprisons Us Until Christ Sets Us Free Galatians 3:22–24 describes the law as a jailer. Its purpose: to drive us to Christ. III. God’s Covenant Through Christ – The Price of Freedom Jesus Fulfills the Law of Moses He obeys the law perfectly for us. He endures the wrath of God instead of us. Jesus Completes the Promise to Abraham Christ is the promised Seed (Galatians 3:16). Through Him, all nations are blessed. Salvation has always been by grace through faith—in Christ alone. By Grace Alone, He Gives Salvation to Us Christianity is not moral improvement; it is new life. Galatians 2:20: We are crucified with Christ; He is our life. Through Faith Alone, We Receive His Spirit Galatians 3:14: The blessing of Abraham is the Spirit. The Spirit transforms us from the inside out. The Spirit continually points our hearts to Christ. “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us.” (Galatians 3:13) Conclusion: Look to Christ For the unbeliever: Believe God, and righteousness is credited to you. For the believer: Your victory is not in trying harder—it is in Christ. Fix your heart on Him. He is your righteousness, peace, joy, and life. “We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.” Grace Baptist Church of Second Life GRACE BAPTIST PODCAST HTTPS://PODPOINT.COM/GRACE-BAPTIST-CHURCH-OF-SECOND-LIFE-PODCAST WEBSITE https://gracebaptistofsecondlife.godaddysites.com

Freedom in Christ WATCH US ON YOUTUBE LIVE @ http://www.youtube.com/gracechurch-slus/live Listen on PodBean https://www.podbean.com/lsw/Grace1?lsid=EzbEMuOwC6J Introduction – Why Galatians Matters Cultural confusion about freedom: autonomy, independence, self-expression Galatians described as the Magna Carta of Christian freedom Central role of Galatians in the Protestant Reformation (Martin Luther) The freedom celebrated by culture is not the freedom promised by Scripture. GALATIANS 1:1-5 Paul, an apostle (not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised Him from the dead), 2 and all the brethren who are with me, 3 Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, 4 who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, 5 to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. I. The Confusion About Freedom The Modern View of Freedom Freedom to think, say, and do whatever one desires Rejection of moral absolutes, authority, and accountability B. The Biblical Reality Jesus: "The truth will make you free" (John 8:32) Unbelievers are slaves to sin, not truly free The only freedom apart from Christ is the freedom to choose one’s chains. II. Religion’s False Promise of Freedom Legalism Rule-keeping, rituals, and external conformity Cannot change the heart or remove guilt B. Libertinism Lawlessness presented as freedom Leads to deeper bondage and shame The Real Problem The problem is internal, not external No one is free until they become a new person in Christ III. Christ Alone Is True Freedom Bondage to sin equals slavery Bondage to Christ brings freedom Christ frees believers from sin’s power, penalty, and future presence Stand[a] fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (Gal 5:1) IV. The Historical Crisis in Galatia Churches founded by Paul Antioch, Iconium, Lystra, Derbe Marked by persecution and suffering The Judaizers Claimed faith in Christ but added circumcision and Mosaic law Motivated by control, avoidance of persecution, and pride A distorted gospel is no gospel at all (Gal. 1:8–9) But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be [b]accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed. III. Christ Alone Is True Freedom Bondage to sin equals slavery Bondage to Christ brings freedom Christ frees believers from sin’s power, penalty, and future presence It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. True freedom is joyful submission to Christ, not independence from Him. Conclusion Freedom is not found in morality, religion, or self-rule Freedom is found in grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone Believers are called to live in grace, not return to bondage Christ has opened the prison door— walk out in faith. Purging the Perverted Temple WATCH US ON YOUTUBE LIVE @ http://www.youtube.com/gracechurch-slus/live https://www.podbean.com/lsw/Grace1?lsid=1ReN3uaAuDq Matthew 21:12-17 12 Jesus went into the temple complex and drove out all those buying and selling in the temple. He overturned the money changers’ tables and the chairs of those selling doves. 13 And He said to them, “It is written, My house will be called a house of prayer. But you are making it a den of thieves!” 14 The blind and the lame came to Him in the temple complex, and He healed them. 15 When the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonders that He did and the children shouting in the temple complex, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” they were indignant 16 and said to Him, “Do You hear what these children are saying?” “Yes,” Jesus told them. “Have you never read: You have prepared[f] praise from the mouths of children and nursing infants?” 17 Then He left them, went out of the city to Bethany, and spent the night there. I. Christ’s Divine Mission (v.12) Jesus deliberately goes to the temple, not Roman strongholds. His concern is worship, not politics or military power. Judgment begins at the house of God (cf. 1 Peter 4:17). For the time has come for judgment to begin with God’s household, and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who disobey the gospel of God? Application: True transformation begins with right worship. II. Christ’s Divine Authority (v.12) Jesus drives out buyers and sellers without resistance. He overturns tables and halts temple commerce. Religious leaders are powerless before His authority. Application: Christ has absolute authority over corrupt religion. III. Christ’s Commitment to Divine Scripture (v.13) Jesus quotes Isaiah 56:7 – the temple as a house of prayer. He quotes Jeremiah 7:11 – a den of robbers. His actions are grounded in God’s Word. Application: True worship aligns with Scripture, not convenience. IV. Christ’s Divine Compassion (v.14) The blind and lame come to Jesus after the cleansing. He heals them with tenderness and mercy. Compassion balances His righteous anger. Application: True worship expresses love and care for the needy. V. Christ’s Divine Power (v.14–15) Miracles authenticate His identity as Messiah. Healing demonstrates God’s creative power. Even His enemies witness undeniable evidence. Application: Christ still has power to restore lives.
