What happens when a wind developer helps power an island’s biggest music festival?

Music festivals are facing a perfect storm: a cost-of-living crisis affecting ticket sales, rising artist fees and production costs, increasing transport and hire bills, and pressure on public funding and grants.

With the financial squeeze getting tighter, sponsorship is becoming more important than ever. But what does the sponsor get out of it - and can a commercial partnership genuinely benefit both sides?

In the first episode of Series 2, Good Stuff in Between host Shaun Milne talks to Darren Cuming, Director at Lewis Wind Power, about the company’s long-term partnership with HebCelt Festival in Stornoway.

They discuss how the relationship came about, what it looks like in practice, and why a wind developer chose to help power music and culture on an island.

A conversation about sponsorship, sustainability, community - and finding the good stuff in between.

It's easy to get lost in the music of Elias Alexander. It's trad-meets-electronic. Fiddle, bagpipes, guitar, whistles and keys, one minute. Samples, loops, and dance floor beats the next.

You could just as easily be shaking your stuff to his music around a beach bonfire, drowning out the noise of the Atlantic, or contemplating his emotion layered lyrics on a drive home.

Thoughts of Scotland, shores, mountains, but with a twist.

It's all born in the USA.

In Ep27 of the Good Stuff in Between podcast, Elias chats to Shaun Milne about how his love of bagpipes and fiddles happened, writing songs with emotion and a sense of knowing who you are, and a return to Scotland to perform at HebCelt and other big stages.
