Did anyone else think they’d have their entire life figured out by 30? Because SAME. 😂

Welcome back to Girls on the Rocks! In today’s episode, we’re talking about expectation vs. reality in your 30s and how different life can look from the picture you had in your head growing up.

From imagining marriage, kids, and having everything figured out to being single, living on my own, navigating finances, and discovering what I actually want out of life… let’s just say things didn’t exactly go according to plan. 😂

We’re getting real about the pressure to hit certain milestones by a certain age, how our dreams and priorities change as we grow up, and what it’s like when your life doesn’t follow the timeline you once imagined.

But maybe your 30s aren’t about checking every box you thought you’d have checked by now. Maybe they’re about getting to know yourself, finding new hobbies, trying new things, and building a life that makes YOU happy—even if it looks completely different from what you expected.

If you’re navigating your 30s, questioning your old expectations, or wondering whether everyone else has it figured out except you, consider this your reminder that you’re not alone. We’re figuring it out one questionable life decision at a time. 💗

Welcome to Girls on the Rocks—your zillennial sister’s corner of the internet for honest conversations about life, love, friendship, pop culture, nostalgia, confidence, and everything in between.

  • Episode 101 | You're Allowed to Have a Hobby as an Adult
    2026/10/07

When did being an adult become so damn serious?

In the first official episode of the new Girls on the Rocks era, we’re talking about something I think way too many of us forget to make room for as we get older: having hobbies.

I’m telling the story of how I found my way back to dance after years of not really having something that was just mine—from dancing as a kid, to losing that part of myself, to randomly seeing Diva Dance on Instagram and deciding to walk into a class by myself.

And somehow, one dance class turned into friendships, new experiences, training opportunities, a new community, and even a part-time job at the studio.

But this episode isn’t really just about dance. It’s about remembering that you’re allowed to have interests that don’t make you money, advance your career, improve your body, or turn into content.

You don’t have to be good at something. You don’t have to do it with your friends. You don’t have to monetize it. You don’t even have to know where it’s going.

Sometimes you just need something that makes you feel like YOU.

Because I don’t want to get so wrapped up in being somebody’s girlfriend, somebody’s wife, somebody’s mom, somebody’s employee, somebody’s whatever, that I forget that I’m also just Taylor.

So let’s talk about getting our girlhood back, finding the things we loved before we cared whether we were good at them, and giving ourselves permission to simply do shit because it makes us happy.

Plus, we’re getting into Pop Culture Corner because obviously…I have shit to say.

And yes, the slightly nostalgic, low-fi visual vibe is intentional. Consider this your early-2000s home-video version of grown-woman girlhood.

It’s about figuring out how to be a grown woman without completely losing the girl you’ve always been—while talking about life, love, friendships, confidence, career, nostalgia, pop culture, and all the wonderfully messy stuff in between.

Think of me as your Zillennial Sister: here to talk shit, share my experiences, ask the questions we’re all secretly asking ourselves, and figure this whole adulthood thing out right alongside you.

Same girl. New era. Same questionable decisions.

  • Episode 98 | Hayden Panettiere’s Death, Princess Diaries 3 Drama & Is Hollywood Out of Ideas?
    2026/08/25

This week, we're diving into some of the biggest and most frustrating pop-culture stories making headlines.

We start with the heartbreaking and sudden death of actress Hayden Panettiere, reflecting on her career, her legacy, and the circumstances surrounding her passing.

Then we're talking The Princess Diaries 3 — and our disappointment that the iconic Julie Andrews won't be returning as Queen Clarisse. From there, we go down a bigger rabbit hole: Why does Hollywood keep resurrecting old franchises instead of creating something new? Are we getting too many sequels, reboots, and nostalgia projects that don't live up to the originals?

We also get into Bumble ending its women-message-first rule and what that change means for modern dating culture.

And finally, Bella Thorne is writing, directing, and starring in Spring Breakers 2. We're asking the obvious question: Can lightning strike twice?

It's messy, nostalgic, controversial, and very Girls on the Rocks.

    2026/08/19

On this episode of Girls on the Rocks, we are covering A LOT. First, we’re getting into the Taylor Swift discourse after Katie Maloney discussed Taylor on her podcast — including the internet’s obsession with where Taylor’s wedding dress photos are and the absolutely wild claim that Taylor Swift has “never served a look.” Naturally, we have thoughts. TomTom is up for sale, so we’re talking about what this means for one of the most iconic restaurants in the VPR universe and the latest chapter in the Tom Sandoval/Tom Schwartz/Lisa Vanderpump saga.We also discuss the TikTok that had us thinking: Are women actually single because we finally have the freedom to choose men based on character? One viral comment declared, “We’re the first generation of women who are free to date men solely for their character, and we’re all single,” and… unfortunately, that opened up a LOT to unpack. And finally, we get into the latest in the Luigi Mangione case following his guilty plea to federal stalking charges connected to the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.Taylor Swift. Vanderpump Rules. Dating. Being single. True crime. We contain multitudes.🎧 Listen to Girls on the Rocks wherever you get your podcasts.💗 Like, comment, subscribe, and follow for more episodes.
