Captain Donovan has had a great career with FDNY and now he adds author to his resume. * Appointed on May 19, 1979 * Assigned to Engine 239 * Transferred to Engine 214 'The Nut House" in June 1982 * Transferred to Ladder 111 in June of 1986 * Worked day tours as the illustrator for WNYF in 1991 * Promoted to Lieutenant in June 1995 * Assigned to Engine 290 "POSA" in July 1996 * Promoted to Captain effective 9/16/2001 and assigned to Operations immediately afterwards. * Covered in Queens from late October 2001 until Jan-Feb 2002 * Assigned to S.O.C. Jan-Feb 2002 - Assigned to Squad 18 U.F.O until Captain Downey's promotion to B.C. * Permanently assigned to Squad 18 September 2002 * Retired July 2003 After Cap's retirement he was hired by UFOA in July 2005 as the first Retiree Liaison and retired from that in December 2021. Lastly, in September of this year, Cap published a book called, "Too Many Good Men". Tune in as Captain Donovan talks about the book and shares his experiences from 911.Gonna be another great show. Now retired, he rides his Harley-Davidson Road Glide EVERY YEAR across America, visiting 9/11 memorial sites in all 49 states and working to keep the memory of his brother alive. 437,000 miles on his Road Glide! 9/11 Never Forget!!     Be sure and join us "live" on our Youtube Channel this Thursday October 1st, with our special guest, City of Newark F.D. veteran, Captain Rich Cooper. Rich started his fire service career with the West Long Branch Volunteer Fire Department in 1982. In 1994, he was hired with the Submarine Base Fire Department CT DoD, assigned to E26, 11 and L15. From there he went on to Fort Monmouth Fire Department NJ DoD transferred to NJ in 1997, assigned to E3, Ladder 1, and Rescue 1. In 2003, Capt. completed the fire academy class for the City of Clifton Fire Department and was assigned to Engines 3 and 5. A few years later, in 2006, he became a member of the Newark Fire Department. He was assigned to R1 as a firefighter, getting promoted a year and a half later to Captain of Rescue 1. He retired in December of 2025. Rich was not just involved in the fire service, Mr. Cooper raced cars in the Meadowlands. We have no doubt that this show will be a doozy.     Be sure and join us with our special guest, 18 year FDNY veteran, Lieutenant Brian Burik. Brian started his career in EMS in 1997. Then in 2000 he went to the fire academy, and was assigned to Ladder 28 out of probie school. In 2005 Brian went to Rescue 1 until 2012 where he was promoted to Lieutenant, assigned to Division 11, in Tower ladder 146. In 2014 he moved on to SOC to be a part of SCUBA / Swiftwater, bouncing around the unit until 2017. After SOC he went to Rescue School SSL until retiring in 2018. After retirement Brian didn't stop, he went on to create another successful career. No doubt Lt. has some great stories for us and we can't wait to hear them. Especially with his new career, involving most firefighters favorite, coffee or should I say.....CAW-FEE..... Gonna be another great show. We will get the whole skinny.
