A brand-new program, with a coach and players who had only passing knowledge of the game, managed to grab the best athletes from other sports and teach them volleyball in a few weeks and go on to win 18 games and reach Round Two of the playoffs. On this week's Corner Blitz Podcast, the first-year Loyd Star volleyball team: head coach Catherine Wilson and all six starters — Micah Claire Lowe, Emma King, Samantha Reed, Maya Wyant, Maddie Kate Britt and Kenzie Kay Lofton. Benji and Adam also talk about MAIS softball all-stars and the MHSAA's recommendation schools get rid of on-campus tailgating follow an outbreak of gun violence across Mississippi last week. Pike County Sheriff Wally Jones comes on the show to see whether or not he knows ball.
