  • How iTargetGolf Makes the Driving Range Engaging

    Make a Logo on Fiverr The traditional golf driving range is great for practicing your swing, but hitting ball after ball into an open field can get repetitive. iTargetGolf wants to change that by adding interactive targets, colorful LED effects and real-time feedback that turns practice into an experience. Frédéric Guitton from iTargetGolf explains that the system works alongside existing ball-tracking platforms to connect the golfer’s shot with physical targets located downrange. The result is a golf driving range that responds when you hit close to a target, making every successful shot feel more rewarding. Bringing the Downrange Area to Life Much of the recent technology added to driving ranges has focused on the individual hitting bays. Screens, ball-tracking systems, comfortable furniture, heaters and automated ball dispensers have all improved the experience near the golfer. The field itself, however, often remains largely unchanged. iTargetGolf places interactive targets throughout the range and connects them with tracking systems from TrackMan, Toptracer and Inrange. When the tracking system determines that a ball landed within a specified distance of a target, iTargetGolf activates a light animation on that target. That physical response provides something a computer screen alone cannot deliver. You can look out onto the range, see the target light up and immediately know that your shot caused it. Immediate Feedback at Every Bay The system can also include interactive lights inside each hitting bay. If a golfer hits near a blue target, for example, the lights in that golfer’s bay can turn blue and play an animation. This feature is especially useful during the day, when bright sunlight may make downrange LEDs more difficult to see. Because the bay lights are only a few feet away, golfers can still receive clear visual feedback. Range operators control the system through a tablet. They can change target colors, schedule when the lights operate and adjust how close a shot must land before triggering a response. That flexibility allows a facility to create different challenges. A range could make every target white except one red target, then reward the first golfer who turns their bay lights red. These simple competitions can transform a normal practice session into a shared Fun Zone for families, groups and special events. More Approachable Than a Full Round An 18-hole round can take several hours and may feel intimidating to someone who is still learning the game. A golf driving range offers a lower-pressure environment where beginners can experiment without worrying about slowing down other players. Interactive targets make that practice feel less like repetition and more like a game. Children can aim for closer targets while experienced golfers work on accuracy at longer distances. Everyone can participate from the same bay, even if their skill levels are completely different. Frédéric Guitton from iTargetGolf compares the modern driving range to a bowling alley. It can be a place to practice, but it can also become a social destination where people compete, eat, drink and spend time together. A Physical Experience Connected to Digital Tracking Golf tracking platforms can display ball speed, launch height, distance and trajectory on a screen. iTargetGolf doesn’t replace those systems. It uses their data to generate a physical response out on the range. That combination gives golfers both detailed performance information and the satisfaction of seeing a real target react. It helps connect virtual golf technology with the open-air feeling of hitting toward something on an actual range. iTargetGolf says its ability to connect with the three major tracking platforms is one of the company’s most important accomplishments. Instead of requiring a range to replace its existing tracking technology, the targets are designed to work with the systems many facilities already use. Cash Cup Golf Adds Higher Stakes iTargetGolf is also rolling out Cash Cup Golf, a permanent hole-in-one contest for driving ranges. Players purchase premium golf balls containing RFID tags, and the ball dispenser connects each ball to the player’s phone number. The target contains an RFID reader that identifies the winning ball if it lands in the hole. Video tracking provides additional verification that the shot was legitimate. For golfers, Cash Cup Golf adds the chance to win money from a single shot. For operators, it creates a premium activity that can generate additional revenue without requiring a completely separate attraction. Turning Practice Into Entertainment Interactive lights will not replace the experience of playing a full golf course, and that isn’t the goal. Instead, iTargetGolf gives facilities another way to introduce people to golf, motivate players to practice and keep groups engaged. Instead of sitting at the front of the room like a traditional webcam or PTZ camera, this tall, table-mounted system is designed to sit in the middle of the action and capture nearly everyone around it. With four built-in cameras, AI framing, multiple meeting modes and optional wireless connectivity, the Nearity 360 Alien is built for boardrooms, hybrid meetings, presentations and conference setups where one camera needs to do the work of several. A Conference Camera Built for the Middle of the Table The Nearity 360 Alien is a 4K wireless camera system designed to capture a room from the center of the table. It uses four cameras to create a panoramic meeting view, then relies on AI to identify speakers and keep people framed. That makes it especially useful for rooms where people are seated around a table instead of lined up in front of a screen. Rather than forcing everyone to crowd around a laptop webcam, the Nearity 360 Alien gives remote participants a clearer view of who is speaking and where they are in the room. The Design Is Big, But That Works in Its Favor The first thing you notice about the Nearity 360 Alien is its size. This is not a tiny puck camera. It is tall, noticeable and built to sit above the table surface. That height is actually a benefit. A smaller conference camera can end up shooting people from too low of an angle, especially in a boardroom. The taller body helps the camera capture faces more naturally, and the built-in quarter-inch mount means you can also place it on a tripod if you need a better eye-level shot. There is one physical limitation: despite the 360 branding, there is a small dead spot where the cameras do not overlap. In most rooms, that will not be a major issue if you position that side toward a wall, monitor or unused side of the table. What Comes in the Box Inside the box, the Nearity 360 Alien includes the main camera unit, power adapter, remote control, USB-A to USB-C cable and a wired microphone puck with a mute button. The microphone connects directly to the camera, and a second mic can be added for larger table setups. The remote is one of the more useful accessories. It lets you change views, adjust modes, mute audio, mute video and control settings without needing to sit next to the computer. That is a big plus if the camera is being used in a meeting room where the laptop or production system is not within easy reach. Ports and Connectivity The Nearity 360 Alien includes DC power, USB-C, Ethernet, HDMI and microphone ports. The HDMI port is full-size, which is a welcome detail because it avoids the need for micro-HDMI or mini-HDMI adapters. USB-C can connect the camera to a computer for Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, OBS, vMix, Wirecast or other video software. HDMI can send video directly to a recorder, switcher or display setup. Ethernet can be used for network configuration, while the optional NA20 wireless dongle allows the camera to connect wirelessly to a computer. That wireless option is one of the stronger parts of the system. Once paired, the NA20 shows up as a wireless video and audio source, letting you use the Nearity 360 Alien in meeting apps or production software without running a USB cable across the table. Meeting Modes: Discussion, Presentation and Global The Nearity 360 Alien includes three main modes: Discussion Mode, Presentation Mode and Global Mode. Discussion Mode Discussion Mode is the best choice for meetings with multiple people talking around the table. The camera identifies faces and can show multiple participants in framed sections, while still keeping the panoramic view visible. In testing, the system was able to recognize more than one person in the room and place them into the split layout. When someone speaks, the system can highlight or shift attention toward that person, helping remote attendees follow the conversation. Presentation Mode Presentation Mode is meant for a meeting where one person is leading the discussion. This mode keeps the presenter as the focus while still letting the room remain visible. For lectures, board updates, demos or hybrid presentations, this is probably the mode most people will use. Global Mode Global Mode gives a broader room view. It is useful when you want everyone visible and do not need the AI to focus tightly on individual speakers. Video Quality and AI Framing The Nearity 360 Alien uses a Starvis CMOS sensor and offers USB 4K output, with HDMI output up to 1080p. The camera also includes image controls such as brightness, saturation, contrast, hue, white balance, HDR and regional frequency settings. In a well-lit room, the image looks clean and usable for meetings. Studio lighting looked especially good, and the camera handled face framing well. Rather than only watching outward from the wall, it can give you a wider view of what is happening around the property — especially if someone walks up to check doors, windows, or entry points. One important note: files stored on the microSD card are not simple MP4 files that someone can pull out and immediately watch. Real-World Use: House or Business In testing, the Aosu T2 Pro worked well when positioned away from the building and aimed back at the front. At around 20 feet from the building, it captured a strong amount of detail from both the wide camera and the PTZ camera. That makes it useful not only for a house, but also for a small business or community building. It can watch the front entrance, capture vehicles passing by, and record people approaching doors after hours. Night Vision Performance The camera performs well in low light. It includes black-and-white night vision, color night vision, and lighting options that can illuminate the area when motion is detected. In a dark room test, the camera still produced usable video. The illumination feature is also helpful when you need more detail or want the camera to act as a visible deterrent. Pros and Cons The biggest advantage of the Aosu T2 Pro is flexibility. The dual-camera system gives you both a wide fixed view and a PTZ tracking camera. The solar panel can be detached and positioned for better sunlight. The app gives you a lot of control over detection, notifications, lights, audio, and tracking. The video quality is also strong, especially for a wireless security camera.
