  • Take the day off!
    2026/09/02

We work hard, show up, stay late, and sometimes give more to our jobs than we give to ourselves. But what happens when work starts costing us our health, our peace, and valuable time with the people we love?

In this episode, Angel talks about the importance of taking your days off without feeling guilty. She shares stories about employees who gave years of loyalty to their jobs, only to discover that a company can continue without them.

This is not an excuse to avoid responsibility. It's a reminder that you are more than your job.

Your position can be filled. Your desk can have another employee sitting at it. But you cannot be replaced in the lives of the people who love you.

So, take the days. Rest when you need to. Protect your health. Spend time with your family; and remember, you don't have to work yourself into exhaustion to prove that you're hardworking.

Your job is important, but so are you.

  • Take a Scroll Break
    2026/08/26

Be honest… how many times have you picked up your phone today?

And before you say, “Not that many,” go check your screen time.; I’ll wait!

In this episode, Angel gets real about our relationship with our phones and social media—and why sometimes we just need to put the phone down and walk away.

After hearing her public speaking students talk about the effects of social media semester after semester, Angel found herself taking another social media break , and every time she does, she notices something: she actually feels better.

From checking your phone hundreds of times a day, to getting sucked into the never-ending social media rabbit hole, to scrolling when you're bored and suddenly realizing 30 minutes have disappeared… we've all been there.

Angel talks about how doom scrolling and social media can affect the way we feel, how comparison can sneak in, and why it's important to pay attention to how you feel after spending time online.

She also shares some simple things that have helped her with taking intentional breaks from social media.

Angel goes from social media fasts to pagers, staying up all night talking on the phone, and running home from school to check messages.

Because apparently, we millennials have been attached to our phones since before smartphones even existed.

Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is simply disconnect for a little while.

    2026/08/19

Join Angel as she gets real about pressure, always being the strong one, and what happens when people stop checking on you because they think you can handle everything.

Just because you’re the one everyone calls when they need advice, encouragement, or help doesn’t mean you don’t need those things too. Sometimes the person holding everybody else together is quietly wondering, “But who’s checking on me?”

Come have a real conversation with Angel about pressure, expectations, support, and the reminder that you don’t always have to be the strong one.

  • While I was gone
    2026/08/12

So… what exactly was Angel doing while she was gone?

In this episode, Angel is catching you up on what she’s been doing during her little podcasting break; and let’s just say, sometimes stepping away is exactly what you need.

We’re talking about making time for YOU, doing the things you actually enjoy, and remembering that not everything you love has to turn into a business, a side hustle, or another thing on your never-ending to-do list.

Sometimes a hobby is just a hobby, and that’s okay!

You don’t have to be productive every second of the day; and you definitely don’t have to feel guilty for doing something simply because it makes you happy.

Come hang out with Angel as she talks about taking a break, finding time for the things she loves, and learning that sometimes the best thing you can do is… just enjoy yourself!
