• GLP-1s: Weight Loss Meds Explained — Benefits, Side Effects & Hidden Truths
    2026/04/29

Everyone is talking about GLP-1 medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and Zepbound… but what are they actually doing in the body, who are they best for, and what should women know before starting them? In this episode, we’re breaking it all down in a real, balanced, and honest way.

As a pharmacist with training in functional medicine, I wanted to have a conversation that wasn’t fear-based or shame-based. These medications can absolutely be helpful tools for some people—but they’re not the full picture. We talk about how GLP-1s work, why they can help with weight loss and insulin resistance, common side effects like nausea and constipation, concerns about nutrient depletion and muscle loss, and why so many people regain weight after stopping them.

We also talk about the bigger picture: hormones, gut health, lifestyle habits, stress, sleep, and root causes that often get overlooked when weight struggles feel impossible. Whether you’re considering a GLP-1, currently taking one, or just curious about the hype, this episode will help you make a more informed decision.

    In This Episode:

    • What GLP-1 medications actually are
    • How GLP-1s help with appetite, cravings & blood sugar
    • Side effects nobody talks about
    • Why weight regain can happen after stopping
    • Muscle loss, metabolism & protein intake
    • Functional medicine perspective on weight loss
    • Root causes of stubborn weight gain in women
    • How to support your body naturally alongside medication

    2026/04/15

This episode is a little different—and one I loved recording.

I’m sharing a podcast swap I did with Jessica Lamb on The Mama Making Podcast, and we went way beyond just health…

We talked about what it actually looks like to build a business while being a present mom—and how that vision can shift once you're in it.

In this episode, we get into:

    • Starting a business right before having a baby (yep… that was me 😅)
    • The reality of balancing motherhood, work, and everything in between
    • Why hustle culture doesn’t always work in this season
    • Redefining success beyond just income or growth
    • The behind-the-scenes of podcasting (and wondering… is anyone even listening?)
    • What “crunchy mom” really means—and how I approach natural health as a pharmacist

I also share more of my personal journey into functional medicine—how working in pharmacy led me to question the “why” behind symptoms, especially when it comes to weight loss, hormones, and long-term health.

This conversation is honest, encouraging, and something I think so many moms in this season will relate to.

  • Timeouts, Spanking & Toddler Routines… What Actually Works?
    2026/03/18

Timeouts. Spanking. Strict routines. Family opinions.

Everyone has something to say about how you should raise your toddler… but what actually works?

In this episode, my husband and I are answering parenting questions on the spot—and we don’t exactly see eye to eye on everything.

We get into some of the most debated topics in parenting:

    • Are timeouts helpful… or harmful?
    • Is spanking ever okay?
    • Do toddlers need structure—or are we overthinking it?
    • Where should boundaries be with extended family?

This conversation is honest, a little spicy at times, and very much “figuring it out in real life.”

If you’ve ever questioned your parenting choices—or felt torn between different advice—this episode will make you think (and probably feel a lot less alone).

If you're feeling exhausted, off hormonally, or not like yourself postpartum, I’d love to support you.

Inside my Functional Medicine practice, we use advanced lab testing (hormones, gut health, metabolism + more) to get to the root cause and build a personalized plan so you can feel like yourself again.

  • Weaning Breastfeeding Changed My Hormones More Than I Expected
    2026/03/11

What happens to your hormones when you start weaning breastfeeding? In this episode, I share the emotional and hormonal shifts I experienced — including getting my first postpartum period back at 13 months.

Landon is BACK for today's episode! Did you miss him and his dad jokes? …because I did. 😄

Today we’re talking about something I was not prepared for: the hormonal and emotional effects of weaning breastfeeding.

It all started with a simple plan to cut just TWO feeds per day. But soon after, I started feeling overwhelmed, anxious, emotional, and crying more often than I’d like to admit. I honestly thought something was wrong with me.

It wasn’t until I talked with a psychologist friend that I realized it might actually be connected to weaning and the hormone shifts that happen when breastfeeding decreases. Mind blown.

In this episode we talk about:

    • The emotional effects of reducing breastfeeding

    • Hormone shifts that can happen during weaning

    • Why anxiety or mood changes may show up

    • Getting my first postpartum period back at 13 months

    • What postpartum cycles can look like after breastfeeding

It turns out the hormonal shift was big enough that my cycle returned postpartum — and surprisingly, it wasn’t nearly as bad as everyone warned me it would be.

I wanted to bring this conversation to the podcast because no one really talks about how significant the hormone shift from weaning can be, and if you’re experiencing something similar, you are definitely not alone.

If you're currently breastfeeding, weaning, or noticing hormonal changes postpartum, this episode is for you.

Please feel free to subscribe and share with a fellow mom friend who might need to hear this conversation!
