  • Talk So Kids Will Listen
    2025/05/14

Huge congratulations to Jamie Sanchez, the Mother’s Day giveaway winner!! Sarah gives a relationship challenge update and, needless to say, it isn’t exactly going as she had planned - but she is not giving up! Grace received a generous gift from a friend that is proving to be life changing. And Sarah’s family got a lot of quality time together this past week including some pretty big events for their oldest. To say Grace had a rough week feels like an understatement with the tip of the iceberg including car problems and a fire detector going off in her home. Fingers crossed for life to be smooth sailing for Grace next week.

This week is a Book Club for 1 takeover with the parenting book: How to Talk So Little Kids Will Listen. Grace shares some of the tools from the book to support helping kids in acknowledging their feelings, encouraging cooperation, resolving conflict, and supporting differently wired kids. Then switch up your dinner rotation with Sarah’s crockpot honey mustard chicken wraps. And Grace brings Philly cheesesteaks to the table. No matter how you’re doing motherhood, we’re rooting for you!

  • Things We Love About Motherhood
    2025/05/07

The long awaited Costco vs. Walmart price comparison is here!!! Sarah’s yay for the week - other than the obvious - her hot date with Colin to two groceries stores was the quality time she got with her youngest this past week. And Grace’s family is doing a screen detox at home. It’s doing wonders for them specifically in terms of creativity and just being more present overall. She can’t recommend it enough!

Sarah attempts to guess the plot of a historical romance that Grace brings for Book Club for 1. Then, with Mother’s Day coming up, Sarah and Grace share some of the things they love about motherhood. As well as highlight some things other moms love about motherhood, too! Hopefully it leaves you feeling invigorated about your motherhood experience!

Sarah’s recipe this week is a family favorite - copycat crunchwrap supremes. And Grace got some use out of her Instantpot this week with her husband’s requested chicken and gravy. No matter how you’re doing motherhood, we’re rooting for you!

  • Marriage After Kids
    2025/04/30

Sarah and Grace are excited to share about their Mother’s Day giveaway! Other than the giveaway, another high point for Sarah this week was Nora scoring her first soccer goal ever! Grace’s week just kind of…happened - no yays or nays - which no nays kind of feels like a win in and of itself. And let’s hope Sarah’s kitchen gets put back together before next week.

Grace shares a book to read and a book not to read from one of her favorite authors this week in Book Club for 1. Sarah and Grace dive into how their marriages have changed since having children and share some of the ways they stay connected with their husbands. Grace shares an article from parents.com with some common reasons couples argue after having kids which reminds us all of the importance of communication. And feel free to join Sarah in doing a 30 day love/relationship challenge over the coming month.

Sarah’s recipe this week is mushroom feta pasta - a quick and easy dinner that goes from stove to table in under 15 minutes. And Grace is here to remind everyone that breakfast for dinner is an option for those long weeks…or really anytime. No matter how you’re doing motherhood, we’re rooting for you!

Poll results are in! And if you’re not getting your carpets professionally cleaned every 6 months - you're not alone - only 3% of people are. Grace shares a heartwarming moment she overheard between her boys this week which brought tears to her eyes. And Sarah enjoyed a lot of outdoor time and a picnic at the park with her girls. Grace shares why the water cycle in and of itself is her nay this week - likely it will get you thinking about the water cycle in a way you never have before.

Grace brings a mystery novel recommendation to Book Club for 1 this week. Then Grace and Sarah share some of their best toy investments in their homes, as well as some of the most loved toys in some of their listeners’ homes.

  • Side Hustles
    2025/04/16

A long awaited laundry detergent update hits the pod this week! And Sarah shares a future date night she has planned for her and her husband. Sarah is relishing thinking back on the past week she had with her girls during her spring break. Well, with the exception of getting stuck in the back of her car with her youngest. And Grace and her husband celebrated their 7 year wedding anniversary at a restaurant they knew their oldest could not miss.

Book Club for 1 is taking a more educational route this week with a couple quick tips from the first half of The Whole-Brain Child. Grace dives into a topic that is a personal area of expertise of her’s - side hustles. Grace and Sarah share side hustles they have personally had - plus ones that have piqued their interest that you may want to look into more, too! If you’re looking for a side hustle, hopefully this episode gives you some ideas to build upon.

Then switch up your dinner rotation with Sarah’s back up (but just as good) recipe for the week - one pot skillet lasagna. And Grace brings Greek chicken gyros to the table. No matter how you’re doing motherhood, we’re rooting for you!

  • Easter Baskets and Traditions
    2025/04/09

Sarah and Grace dive straight into sharing the results of their birthday-related polls! And the results have Sarah rethinking a couple things. The biggest takeaway here is if you don’t feel like doing party favors, likely the vast majority of your party guests won’t care.

Sarah and Grace got together this past week for some girl time and it was exactly what Sarah’s heart needed. And Grace’s yay and nay is one in the same - cleaning her carpets herself…like with a rug doctor. The ladies are also excited to share some yays and nays submitted by their community.

Grace brings a new segment to the podcast - Book Club for 1! Grace describes the plots of two of her most recent reads - one that she loved - one that she didn’t. And then Sarah - attempts - to guess the title of the book. If nothing else, hopefully you get at least one book to add to your ‘must read’ list.

Sarah and Grace are still celebrating the start of spring as they dive into all things Easter! Easter egg hunts are (of course) on the agenda. Then Sarah and Grace share the creative ways they go about decorating Easter eggs with their kids. Sarah shares a staple that can always be found in her girls’ Easter baskets. And, of course, scooters are happening for her daughters this Easter! Grace has some exciting things planned for her oldest’s basket this year which she knows he is going to love!

Then switch up your dinner rotation with one of Sarah’s go to quick and easy dinners - French bread pizza. And Grace brings one pan sausage and veggies to the table. No matter how you’re doing motherhood, we’re rooting for you!

  • Spring Bucket List
    2025/04/02

Of course the highlight from Sarah’s past week was her daughter’s birthday party! And you may not have known it, but there’s a viral TIkTok-er in our midst! Grace is investing the time and money - so you don’t have to - to find a natural laundry detergent that smells…toxic aka just like Tide. And no, she does not want her laundry smelling like essential oils! Sarah is looking for some solidarity this week as her youngest’s ear infection would have gone undiagnosed if it wasn’t for her 2 year well visit exam. Along the same vein, Grace shares the cost estimate she got to fill her oldest’s cavities. And it’s causing them both to feel a little bit skeptical of dentists in general.

Spring is in the air which means spring bucket lists are in full swing! For Sarah this includes what activities she has planned to do with her kids over spring break. Grace’s spring plans include a little overnight hotel stay in addition to a multitude of outdoor activities. Hopefully this episode leaves you feeling inspired with some activities to do with your own kids this spring.

Then switch up your dinner rotation with Italian grinder sliders that Sarah served at the birthday party this past weekend. Grace shares a little bit more of a time intensive recipe than her norm - sticky sesame chicken - but it’s worth it! A frequent topic of conversation in Sarah’s life - Costco - is mentioned and she’s looking for any takers on starting a salad swap near her. No matter how you’re doing motherhood, we’re rooting for you!

  • Kids Birthday Parties
    2025/03/26

The infrared yoga classes at Grace’s gym were just the pick me up she needed this week to really lift her spirits. It’s even gotten her in the habit of meditating in the morning to start her day off right! Sarah and her girls had the best time at the cutest St. Patrick’s Day party they were invited to. And now Sarah's feeling inspired to host her own holiday kid activity in the future.

Sarah’s self-proclaimed hobby - planning her children’s birthday parties - is the topic of discussion this week! Sarah is full of birthday party theme inspo for little ones turning 1, 2, or 3. And hear the party themes Sarah and Grace have done for their own kids. From food to balloons to bounce houses, Sarah and Grace dive into some of their birthday party staples. And should birthday party presents be opened during the party or at a later time? Grace and Sarah share their thoughts and want to hear yours too! Grace has a - maybe - controversial take on party favors that Sarah doesn’t really disagree with. It’s, of course, all poll-worthy!

Then switch up your dinner rotation with Garlic Parmesan Chicken Pasta - a crockpot recipe Sarah served at her oldest’s most recent birthday party. Skip the Chick-Fil-A drive thru this week and make grilled chicken nuggets at home - Grace recommends dipping in buffalo sauce. No matter how you’re doing motherhood, we’re rooting for you!
