  • Birth Order
    2025/06/25

Grace made an exciting new purchase this week - a meat slicer - in an attempt to feed her family less processed meats. But don’t worry, Sarah has questions! Then Sarah gets a little vulnerable about her daughter’s speech progression. Whether you are a mom navigating a child’s potential diagnosis or a mom whose heart hurts when seeing your child work so hard at something they struggle with - you’re not alone. And, unfortunately, it is now Grace’s turn for some car troubles.

If we didn’t know better, one might actually think Sarah may have read this week’s novel for Book Club for 1. Grace and Sarah are both personally intrigued in the topic birth order - whether that be thinking about their own kids or themselves and their own siblings Sarah and Grace bring some unauthentic - but delicious - recipes this week. With chicken pad thai - peanuts optional - from Sarah. And the chicken enchilada casserole Grace’s mom always made growing up. No matter how you’re doing motherhood, we’re rooting for you!

  • How to Create a Village
    2025/06/18

Sarah and Grace relish in how fun it has been to catch up every week through doing the podcast together. And Sarah and Grace’s husband are officially on SUMMER BREAK!!! But prior to that, the stomach bug hit Sarah’s home, again, during her last week of work. Also, Grace’s oldest has a new favorite game that is both a yay and a nay for Grace.

Grace brings a heartbreaking and tender memoir this week that ends Book Club for 1 on an educational note. Grace and Sarah share what being a villager means to them and kelsewhatelse’s suggestions on how to make friends and create your own village. Sarah brings a trendy recipe this week - crispy hot honey feta chicken - to switch up your dinner rotation. And Grace brings shrimp - or whichever protein you prefer - scampi. No matter how you’re doing motherhood, we’re rooting for you!

  • Make Father's Day Special
    2025/06/11

Grace and Sarah kick off this week with some poll results. Then, a definite highlight of Grace’s week was the alphabet date her husband planned with all things letter ‘G’. Other than hitting up the water park again this week, Sarah’s yay was just the solid weekend she had with her family. And learn why Sarah will no longer be able to use the phrase “when pigs fly” with her family. Unfortunately, Sarah’s beloved car is facing more issues this week. But she is optimistic, after Colin fixes it, that it may be a future yay.

Grace brings a book that is being turned into a major motion picture for Book Club for 1 this week. And Grace and Sarah talk all things Father’s Day. They share some of the things they’re planning to do for their husbands for Father’s Day. But the overall takeaway is the importance of quality time and communicating things they love and appreciate about the dads in their lives. Then switch up your dinner rotation with pulled pork bbq mac & cheese from Sarah. And Grace brings chicken katsu to the table. No matter how you’re doing motherhood, we’re rooting for you!

  • Infertility Awareness Month ft. Emily Moon
    2025/06/04

Cavity filling day finally arrived for Grace’s oldest! And Grace wasn’t quite as excited about it as him - he's now stoked to have metal in his mouth like his friends. Grace got to visit her siblings, parents, and celebrate her brother’s high school graduation in South Carolina this past week with the baby in tow. Red eye flights are likely no longer in her future and, PSA, double check with your airline but you can no longer check travel cribs for free. Sarah fears the end of her car that has been through so many stages of life with her - from college to being a young, single working girly to getting married and having kids - may be close to the end of the road. And, to no surprise, Sarah’s yay this week was the grand opening of the water park near her home.

In honor of Infertility Awareness Month, Grace and Sarah feel so lucky to have their friend, Emily Moon, share her infertility journey and what all really went in to her experience. Emily also shares some ways to support friends who are struggling with infertility. As a fellow reader, Emily brings Book Club for 1 this week and Grace is excited to get to be the one guessing the book title for a change. Then switch up your dinner rotation with chicken pot pie with biscuits from Emily, spinach lasagna rolls from Sarah, and grilled steaks from Grace. No matter how you’re doing motherhood, we’re rooting for you!

Get your FREE Airplane Packing Checklists for Babies & Toddlers HERE.

This week Grace and Sarah kickoff the podcast discussing the recent trend of Type C moms but - let the record show - Grace and Sarah were talking about different ‘types’ of moms before this trend was even a thing. Grace’s yay and nay is one and the same this week with the release of season 2 of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. And an unexpected topic of conversation this week - with the breaking of Sarah’s vacuum - corded vs. cordless vacuum cleaners.

Grace shares a multi-award winning book this week in Book Club for 1 and strongly recommends it for adults and children in 5th grade and up. Just as Grace and Sarah have very different personalities, they also travel very differently with their children. With summer travels upon us, Grace and Sarah share some of their tips and tricks of what works best for each of their own families on plane trips. Hopefully there are some takeaways you can apply to your own family. Also, be sure to get your own copy of Grace and Sarah’s - primarily Sarah’s since Grace doesn’t make a list - free airplane packing checklists for babies & toddlers. Then switch up your dinner rotation with some summer-y cheeseburgers off the grill from Sarah and campfire hot dogs from Grace. No matter how you’re doing motherhood, we’re rooting for you!

  • Summer Bucket List
    2025/05/21

The final laundry detergent update has hit the pod this week! Dishwasher detergents just may be up next. With Grace’s previous week being nothing short of a disaster, she had a bit of a redemption week with her perfectly executed Mother’s Day plans to a midweek hike, time spent with friends, and ordering some Chatbooks for her family. Sarah is excited about her and husband attempting to be the ‘cool’ aunt and uncle this fall as their nephew moves from Virginia to Utah for college. And Grace’s oldest has been inundating her with questions which can, at times, feel like a nay. However, Grace reminds herself of her family motto which includes valuing life long learning.

Grace shares a fun read about a corporate girlie - that gives a bit of The Office vibes - this week in Book Club for 1. Summer is basically upon us as Sarah and Grace share some of the things they have planned for their families this summer including camping in the backyard, lemonade stands, hot air balloon festival, and lots of time in the water. Lastly, coincidentally, it’s shrimp week! Sarah and Grace both share shrimp recipes to help you switch up your dinner rotation. No matter how you’re doing motherhood, we’re rooting for you!

  • Talk So Kids Will Listen
    2025/05/14

Huge congratulations to Jamie Sanchez, the Mother’s Day giveaway winner!! Sarah gives a relationship challenge update and, needless to say, it isn’t exactly going as she had planned - but she is not giving up! Grace received a generous gift from a friend that is proving to be life changing. And Sarah’s family got a lot of quality time together this past week including some pretty big events for their oldest. To say Grace had a rough week feels like an understatement with the tip of the iceberg including car problems and a fire detector going off in her home. Fingers crossed for life to be smooth sailing for Grace next week.

This week is a Book Club for 1 takeover with the parenting book: How to Talk So Little Kids Will Listen. Grace shares some of the tools from the book to support helping kids in acknowledging their feelings, encouraging cooperation, resolving conflict, and supporting differently wired kids. Then switch up your dinner rotation with Sarah’s crockpot honey mustard chicken wraps. And Grace brings Philly cheesesteaks to the table. No matter how you’re doing motherhood, we’re rooting for you!

  • Things We Love About Motherhood
    2025/05/07

The long awaited Costco vs. Walmart price comparison is here!!! Sarah’s yay for the week - other than the obvious - her hot date with Colin to two grocery stores was the quality time she got with her youngest this past week. And Grace’s family is doing a screen detox at home. It’s doing wonders for them specifically in terms of creativity and just being more present overall. She can’t recommend it enough!

Sarah attempts to guess the plot of a historical romance that Grace brings for Book Club for 1. Then, with Mother’s Day coming up, Sarah and Grace share some of the things they love about motherhood. As well as highlight some things other moms love about motherhood, too! Hopefully it leaves you feeling invigorated about your motherhood experience!

Sarah’s recipe this week is a family favorite - copycat crunchwrap supremes. And Grace got some use out of her Instantpot this week with her husband’s requested chicken and gravy. No matter how you’re doing motherhood, we’re rooting for you!
