    A series of lectures and rants on the history of ceiling fans and various ceiling fan companies, primarily those from the renaissance of 1970-2000 1870: Butter Hardware founded by Gustav Butter in Milwaukee Wisconsin. 1924: Becomes The Butter Company, INC a supplier of hardware products 1978: Ron Rezek Lighting founded 1982: First use of Design House as a company name 1983: Beverly Hills Trading Co incorporated in Beverly Hills California by Shelley Greenberg, a former Casa sales rep, and his father Hoyne Greenberg, owner of Hoyne Industries, a mirror and tile manufacturer. Beverly Hills fans show up in ads as standard GEV 1983: Design House ceiling fans show up in ads. Imported spinners, 6 blade Manhattan with Original style canopy 1984: Design House adds GEV close mount, hugger. DHI Corp incorporated in Delaware 1984: Beverly Hills fans in ads are now a builder or hugger in choice of colors 1986: Design House signature fans show up. Close mount, Trade Winds, spinner is Carousel. 1986: Beverly Hills also offers wood/stencil/cane/brass fans that appear identical to Design House fans 1987: Deco, halogen spotlight kit patented to Shelley Greenberg, assigned to Beverly Hills Trading 1987: Design House Carousel is now a hugger 1988: Beverly Hills contracted with Ron Rezek. Design House incorporated in Delaware. Design House moves to Germantown, WI. Last year of traditional Manhattan 1991: Ariel patented by Ron Rezek, assigned to Beverly Hills Trading Co. Beverly Hills shows up in Home Depot ads, Sears Catalog. Beverly Hills Fan Co incorporates in California, goes public. Stock does very well 1991: Design House trademarks Manhattan, Carousel, Close-Up, Aurora, Le Cirque. Manhattan is a spinner motor 6 blade fan. 1991: LA FAN CO shows up in ads 1992: Beverly Hills Trading Co patents assigned to Beverly Hills Fan Co. Ron patents wood housing fan, assigned to Beverly Hills Fan Co. Beverly Hills markets fans in Spain. Beverly Hills Fan Co stock mysteriously tanks, analysts accuse them of misleading investors. Beverly Hills introduces a line of lighting that is supposed to save the company. 1992: 5 blade Manhattan Signature is introduced (rubber flywheel, looks like a Sonica) 1993: Le Dome Patented by Ron Rezek, assigned to Beverly Hills Fan Co. Last year in Sears catalog 1994: Beverly Hills & Design House sold side by side. Beverly Hills Fan Co stock still doing poorly. 1996: Last year for LA FAN CO in ads 1996: Beverly Hills Fan Co in foreclosure. Design House buys Beverly Hills Fan Co 1997: Design House trademarks Arts & Crafts Collection, Trout, Arcade, Satellite, Mecca, Solerno, FanFare.
