What happens when grief shows up but nobody has died? In this episode of From the Eyes of a Daddy’s Girl, we explore grief outside of death, the kind of grief that comes from relationships changing, dreams ending, people walking away, unanswered questions, broken connections, and moments in life that force us to say goodbye to what we thought would always be. Grief isn’t always about losing a person to death. Sometimes, we grieve the relationship we wished we had. We grieve the version of ourselves we used to be. We grieve opportunities, family dynamics, friendships, marriages, childhoods, expectations, and even the future we imagined and sometimes, the hardest grief is grieving someone who is still alive. Through a daughter’s perspective, this episode creates space for the uncomfortable truth that loss can happen without a funeral. There may be no sympathy cards, no flowers, and no formal acknowledgment of what you’re going through but the pain is still real. Join me as I talk about recognizing these invisible losses, giving ourselves permission to grieve them, and learning that healing doesn’t always mean forgetting or getting back what we lost. Sometimes healing means accepting what is, releasing what was, and finding peace in what comes next because grief isn’t only about death. Sometimes, grief is about letting go and sometimes, letting go is how we finally begin to heal.

What happens when two daughters grow up with completely different experiences of their fathers?

In this powerful episode, we explore the stories of two daughters navigating two very different father-daughter journeys.

One daughter experienced a relationship with her dad from the very beginning a bond shaped by childhood memories, love, lessons, laughter, and the years they shared together.

The other daughter is trying to build that relationship later in her adult life navigating the questions, emotions, missed moments, expectations, and uncertainty that can come when the relationship you longed for is something you are still trying to create.

Two daughters. Two perspectives. Two different starting points but underneath both stories is the same desire: to be seen, loved, accepted, and connected to Dad.

This episode opens an honest conversation about father-daughter relationships, childhood experiences, reconciliation, emotional distance, forgiveness, and what it means to pursue a relationship when the journey doesn’t look the way you imagined.

This is a conversation about love, longing, healing, and the relationships we are still learning how to build.

You are not behind, unqualified, or missing what it takes. The real breakthrough comes when you stop obsessing over what you lack and start seeing everything God has already placed in your hands. Rachelle delivers a deeply personal, faith-filled reminder for anyone who has been second-guessing their calling, comparing their journey, or waiting to feel "ready" before stepping forward. She shares how launching this podcast forced her to confront her own insecurities, and why the habit of counting deficiencies can keep you from recognizing your gifts, your growth, and your assignment. She also reframes closed doors, delayed timelines, and unanswered prayers as part of a larger process of growth, character, and trust. If you've been measuring yourself against someone else's middle, this episode is your reset. It's a timely message for believers, creatives, entrepreneurs, and anyone wrestling with self-doubt who needs permission to stop shrinking and start showing up.
