For young Charley Brewster (William Ragsdale), nothing could be better than smooching with his girlfriend Amy (Amanda Bearse) while watching an old horror movie late at night. Jerry (Chris Sarandon) movaes in next door, and for Charley, there is no doubt that he is a vampire. The only one who can help him hunt them down is a washed-up actor, Peter Vincent (Roddy McDowall), who hosts Charley's favorite TV show, Fright Night. But Vincent doesn't really believe that vampires exist.
