This isn’t another “try harder” purity podcast.
It’s not about white-knuckling your way to freedom or stacking up shame-fueled accountability check-ins.

This is about transformation.
Real, lasting, gospel-centered freedom from pornography—not someday, but today.

Hosted by former addicts turned freedom coaches, Richard Young and Justin Khoe, Free from Porn is a no-shame, no-fluff conversation rooted in one bold truth:

If Jesus has set you free from sin, then porn doesn’t get to define you.

Each episode exposes the lies keeping you stuck, renews your mind with truth from God’s Word, and helps you walk out the freedom you already have in Christ.

Expect raw honesty, biblical clarity, practical strategy, and stories from people who’ve actually broken free—not because they got stronger, but because they started believing what Jesus already said was true.

  • #62 You Don't Have to Get Free — You Already Are
    2026/09/04

What does a friend's stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis have to do with breaking free from porn? Everything. In this episode, Rich shares a story from that same morning — a phone call, a prayer, and a firsthand look at what it means to "cash the check" God already wrote.

Digging into the Greek word sozo (salvation — meaning saved, healed, delivered, made whole, and kept safe) and Psalm 103, Rich makes the case that freedom from unwanted sexual behavior isn't something you're working toward — it's something you already have in Christ. You're not trying to break free. You're not trying to earn healing. You're learning to open your eyes and believe what's already true.

If shame has convinced you that freedom is always just out of reach, this episode will challenge you to stop striving and start believing — and closes with a prayer you can pray right where you are.

  • # 61 Make It Not an Option (Colossians 3)
    2026/08/28

A phone call with his brother sends Rich back to a passage he says might be the one he returns to most — Colossians 3.

Paul doesn't tell us to manage sexual immorality or try harder against it. He says put it to death. Rich unpacks the difference, using a simple but sticky illustration: a vegan friend who feels zero temptation around pizza and ice cream at parties — not because he has superhuman willpower, but because eating dairy simply isn't an option for him anymore. Compare that to Rich himself, who's lactose intolerant but can "cheat" with a pill — and the moment it becomes an option, it becomes a struggle.

That's the whole episode in one idea: as long as porn stays an option in the back of your mind, you'll keep negotiating with it in weak moments — when you're angry, bored, anxious, or searching. But if you take it off the table entirely, the same way you'd never consider infidelity with a prostitute, you're forced to actually deal with what's underneath. The anxiety. The fear. The thing you were escaping in the first place.

Rich makes the case that rules aren't restrictive — they're what actually open up freedom.

    In this episode:

    • Why "put to death" means something different than "manage" or "resist"
    • The pizza illustration that reframes what temptation really is
    • Why making something a rule — not an option — is what creates real freedom
    • Setting your mind "on things above" and why that changes what you're drawn to
    • A prayer to take sexual immorality off the table for good

  • #60 Galatians 5:16-24 Walk By the Spirit: Why You Won't Satisfy the Flesh
    2026/08/19

Rich shares the verse that changed his cousin's life and cracked open the gospel for him — Galatians 5:16-24.

Paul lays out two ways to live: by the flesh, or by the Spirit. And Rich unpacks why trying to white-knuckle your way out of porn by focusing on "don't do this" never works — because the psyche doesn't process negatives well. Telling yourself "don't look at porn" doesn't work. Setting your mind on the Spirit does.

This episode dismantles a common confusion too: sensuality isn't the same as sexuality — sensuality is living by your feelings, letting emotion dictate your direction. Rich breaks down why the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, self-control) isn't something you work toward — it's already yours because your old man was crucified with Christ.

The core idea: you don't stay out of the old room by staring at the door. You walk into the new one. That's what it means to walk by the Spirit.

    In this episode:

    • Why "don't do this" doesn't work — and what to focus on instead
    • The real difference between sensuality and sexual immorality
    • What it means that your flesh was already crucified with Christ
    • Why living by feelings keeps you stuck in old patterns
    • A prayer to set your mind on the Spirit and walk out your freedom
