  • Episode 2.14 - Breathwork: Can Changing How You Breathe Change Your Life?
    2026/09/30

We breathe all day, every day, without giving it much thought. But what happens when you use your breath intentionally—not simply to breathe “better,” but to explore what’s happening beneath the surface?

This week on Fountains of Youth, we're switching things up! Dr. Rachel Myers takes over the host chair, while Micah tries his hand at co-hosting, as they welcome breathwork practitioner-in-training Danielle Freeman for a fascinating conversation about breathwork, awareness, support, faith, and our inner world.

Danielle is nearing the end of a two-year training program through The School of Breathwork, where she is studying Rebirthing Breathwork Mastery. The program describes its training as an International Certificate in Breathwork Mastery offered in partnership with the method's founder, Alakh Analda. The School Of Breathwork

Danielle explains why the practice she is learning isn't primarily about improving your breathing. Instead, she describes using the breath to enter a different level of awareness—creating space to recognize thought patterns, explore suppressed emotions and past experiences, and process what may be happening internally. She also shares how support and a sense of safety can affect that process and how, for her, breathwork has intersected with her relationship with God and spirituality.

We also explore some big questions: How much does our inner world shape the way we experience our lives? Can our bodies hold onto things we haven't fully processed? What role can another person's support play when we're working through difficult emotions? And what does Danielle believe can happen when we become more aware of what's going on inside us?

Of course, we can't talk about breathing for an entire episode without having some fun. We play Inhale or Exhale, discover just how long some animals can go without taking a breath, and put Danielle and Rachel's animal knowledge to the test. 🐧🦎🐋😂

It’s a conversation about breath, awareness, healing, faith, and what it might mean to become more connected to ourselves and to God—all while looking for another way to stay young in mind, body, and spirit.

  • Episode 2.13 - Fasting: What Happens When You Stop Eating? | Loren Lockman
    2026/09/09

We spend a lot of time thinking about what we should eat. But what happens when we choose not to eat at all?

This week on Fountains of Youth, Micah and Dr. Rachel Myers are joined by fasting expert Loren Lockman, who has spent decades studying nutrition, natural health, and extended water fasting. Loren shares the personal health journey that first led him down this path and what he says he has learned from guiding thousands of people through supervised fasts—some lasting weeks rather than days.

We explore what happens during a fast, why Loren believes extended fasting can be beneficial, what makes a multi-week fast very different from simply skipping a meal, and the importance of safety and supervision. We also talk about our relationship with food, the mental and emotional experience of going without it, and even the different reasons people choose to fast.

And this is still Fountains of Youth, so things don't stay serious for long. We tackle some questionable Urban Dictionary terms, attempt to turn them into poetry, and discover that one of Loren's areas of expertise is surprisingly difficult to distinguish from something completely unrelated. 😂

Can fasting play a role in staying young in mind, body, and spirit? Join us for a fascinating conversation with someone who has made studying that question his life's work.

  • Episode 2.12 — Rising Above Negativity: When to Respond and When to Go Higher
    2026/09/02

What do you do when someone misunderstands you, criticizes you, rejects you—or tells a version of your story you don’t recognize?

You can spend a lot of energy trying to defend yourself and change people’s opinions. Or sometimes, the better choice is to go higher.

This week, Micah and Daniel are joined by Greg and Tammy Batten for a conversation about navigating negativity without letting it steal your joy. They talk about the sting of rejection, why negative voices can have so much power over us, how to know when criticism is worth listening to, and when it’s time to stop fighting and move forward.

Greg also shares the story of the eagle and the crow—a picture of what it can look like to rise above the things trying to weigh us down.

And because this is Fountains of Youth, it’s not all serious. Greg and Daniel find out just how well they know the women in their lives, we encounter some truly bizarre school mascots, and there are plenty of laughs along the way.

Maybe staying young in mind, body, and spirit isn’t about avoiding negativity. Maybe it’s about refusing to let negativity determine your altitude.

    🎧 In this episode:

    • Why rejection and criticism can weigh us down
    • When to respond—and when to let it go
    • Staying teachable without being controlled by others’ opinions
    • Rising above negativity without becoming bitter
    • The eagle and the crow
    • How letting go can help us stay young
    • Games, laughs, and some very questionable school mascots

Challenge of the Week: Don’t feed the crow. Take the lesson if there’s one to learn. If there isn’t—gain altitude.

Subscribe to Fountains of Youth for more conversations about staying young in mind, body, and spirit.
