Hello, family! My name is Matthew Curtis, and I want to welcome you to the Foundational Truths for Life Podcast. When I was four and five years old, I had a series of divine experiences with God where I received my call to preach and teach the Good News of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Eventually, the call of God was burning so fervently inside of me that I made the decision to wholeheartedly commit my life to Jesus and the ministry He was calling me to. But four years into ministry, the Lord gave me a clear revelation of how much I didn't know. I was divinely inspired to immerse myself in the Word of God and in communion with Him so that I might fulfill His plan for my life and finish my course with joy! For His Kingdom's sake! For His people's sake! Being a preacher's kid, I was in church at least 3-5 times per week growing up, but many times, 5-7 days a week! My parents were also missionaries to Honduras, Central America, and we even lived there for a short time. Needless to say, I heard a lot of preaching and teaching; I'd witnessed many things. I heard good and encouraging sermons, bad and discouraging sermons, every kind of sermon you could think of, and every kind of sermon you shouldn't think of! Because of this, I had developed a skewed and one-sided version of Scripture and New Testament doctrine in many areas. While there were a lot of magnificent things I learned and received, I wasn't ever taught the foundational principles of any Scriptural truth. I realized I was like the man in the Bible who built his house on the sand instead of the solid rock foundation of Christ, the living Word. As a result, for the last nineteen years, I've prepared my heart to seek the Lord and to search the Scriptures, believing the Holy Spirit to uncover the precious foundational truths of Christian living that I'm now privileged to share with you in the podcast. As the Lord helps us, some of the many topics we'll discuss are... * How to Spend Time with God * Foundational Truths for Your Marriage and Family * How to Be a Doer of Jesus' Love Command * Kingdom of God Finances * The First Principles of Jesus' Teachings ...and much more. I invite you to come with me on a journey through the Bible as we discover and uncover foundations of Scriptural truth, principles based on the love of God and faith towards God, and by His grace, we'll learn how to practically apply them to our lives today in Christ.Kingdom Inheritance Ministries, Inc. キリスト教 スピリチュアリティ 個人的成功 聖職・福音主義 自己啓発

Have you ever been afraid that fully following Jesus would mean giving up everything you love?

Maybe you've wondered if surrendering your plans, dreams, career, relationships, or future would leave you with a smaller, harder, or less enjoyable life.

The truth is, that's one of the biggest lies the enemy wants you to believe.

In this episode of Foundational Truths for Life, Matthew Curtis explores what Jesus really meant when He said, "Follow Me." Through Scripture, you'll discover that Jesus isn't asking you to give up what's good so He can make your life miserable—He's inviting you to trust Him because what He has in store is far greater than anything you're holding onto.

If you've been struggling to trust God's plan, afraid of what obedience might cost, or wondering if following Jesus is truly worth it, this episode is for you.

The biggest misconception about surrendering your life to God

What Jesus meant when He asked people to leave everything and follow Him

Why God's plan is always better than your own

What does it really mean to follow Jesus?

When Jesus called Peter, Andrew, James, and John, they immediately followed Him. Their response reveals three important truths about what it means to follow Jesus today:

    • They acted on Jesus’ call immediately.

    • They stopped doing what they previously thought they were supposed to do.

    • They didn’t let family keep them from following Jesus.

In this episode of our Acknowledging Jesus series, we continue exploring what it truly means to be a disciple of Jesus—not someone who follows from a distance, but someone who trusts Him enough to go wherever He leads. We also discuss:

    • Why you cannot follow Jesus from afar.

    • Why being a disciple involves more than simply watching church from home.

    • What Jesus taught the two men who wanted to follow Him in Matthew 8.

    • Why following Jesus doesn’t look the same for everyone.

    • Why you can trust that God’s plan for your life is always the best path.

Following Jesus isn’t about comparing your calling to someone else’s.

It’s about trusting Him enough to say, “Yes, Lord,” and following wherever He leads.

    📖 Key Scriptures:

    Matthew 4:18-22

    Matthew 8:18-22

    Proverbs 3:5-6

If you’ve ever wondered what it truly means to follow Jesus, this episode will encourage you to trust Him, obey His leading, and confidently walk the unique path He has prepared for you.

Have you ever found yourself wondering:

“What am I missing as a Christian?”

You know you’re saved. You believe in Jesus. You know Heaven is your home.

    But something still feels off.

    You feel like you’re drifting.

You feel like you’re going through the motions.

You feel like you’re not growing the way you thought you would.

You sense that God has more for you, but you’re not sure why you’re not experiencing it.

The truth is, many Christians know Jesus as Savior but never fully learn what it means to follow Him.

Salvation was never meant to be the finish line.

Jesus didn’t simply invite people to believe in Him. He invited them to follow Him.

In this episode, we continue our series on Acknowledging Jesus by exploring one of the most important questions every believer must answer:

Am I truly following Jesus, or am I simply believing in Him from a distance?

    We’ll discuss:

    • Why many Christians feel like they’re drifting in their walk with God

    • What Jesus meant when He said, “Follow Me”

    • Why salvation is the beginning of the journey, not the end

    • What it means to deny yourself and take up your cross

    • Why holding on to your own plans can keep you from God’s plans

    • How God reveals His purpose as you follow Him

    • The rewards Jesus promised to those who follow Him wholeheartedly

Many believers think following Jesus means giving something up.

But the reality is that following Jesus leads you into the life you were created for.

God’s plans are not smaller than yours.

    They’re greater.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re drifting, or missing something in your walk with God, or wondering if there’s more to the Christian life than what you’re currently experiencing, this episode is for you.
