The year was 2008. A black president was elected into the White House for the 1st time, the U.S. was going through a recession, Houston went through Hurricane Ike & Da Mysterious Q was just starting to learn to ropes of professional wrestling under Tugboat Taylor.

16 years later, Q — the native of New Orleans, Louisiana by way of California — has recently returned from a 1 year absence due to injury to attempt to regain his former je ne sais quoi. That being a former 8-Time Champion in Booker T’s “Reality of Wrestling” (2 reigns, each, of the ROW Television & Texas Championships as well as being a 3-Time ROW Heavyweight Champion & former Tag Team Champion) and being the longest reigning New Texas Pro Heavyweight Champion (644 days from Sept. 2019 to Jun. 2021).

In this interview with our “Chillmeister” J. Christian Gary, Q talks about how his career began, the moments he enjoyed in The ROW, what led him to New Texas Pro Wrestling & how has Pro Wrestling changed from when he debuted back in ‘08 to now.

Q will be facing off against sworn enemy JJ Blake at New Texas Pro’s “Already Platinum” on Sunday, Aug. 23rd at Campbell Hall in Pasadena (Houston), Texas, USA. Bell time: 6 PM Central, the event will be streamed on ​⁠IndependentWrestling.tv.
