  • Buyers or Sellers: Toronto Blue Jays vs Washington Nationals Game 108 Preview | Flight Deck
    2026/07/28

The Blue Jays are running out of time. Toronto opened the series in Washington with a 3-2 win to improve to 49-58, but with just days remaining before the August 3 trade deadline, every game could shape the front office's direction.

On game preview 108 of Flight Deck, we break down Max Scherzer's emotional return to Nationals Park on his 42nd birthday, another lights-out performance from the Blue Jays bullpen, and whether Shane Bieber can continue rebuilding his value in today's start.

We'll also dive into the growing trade deadline speculation after Jeff Passan reported Toronto has been active around the league. Is Jeff Hoffman becoming one of the hottest relief targets in baseball? Could Daulton Varsho be part of a blockbuster? And if the Blue Jays decide to sell, what kind of return should fans expect?

We'll discuss whether Bieber has turned the corner after two strong outings, why his start against Cade Cavalli and the Nationals could be another opportunity to boost his trade value, and whether Toronto should capitalize while his stock is rising.

Plus, Louis Varland improves to a perfect 22-for-22 in save opportunities, Jeff Passan's comments on a potential MLB lockout and how it could impact Toronto's deadline strategy. Can Toronto keep winning and force themselves back into the playoff conversation, or is the organization heading toward becoming sellers?

We finish with Tyler's picks presented by bet365.

  • Another Setback: Toronto Blue Jays vs Washington Nationals Game 107 Preview | Flight Deck
    2026/07/27

The Toronto Blue Jays continue to spiral as they fall 6-1 to the Boston Red Sox, dropping the series 2-1 against their AL East rivals. On this episode of Flight Deck, Tyler Yaremchuk breaks down another frustrating loss that leaves Toronto 10 games under .500, 5.5 games out of a Wild Card spot, and seemingly headed toward becoming sellers with the MLB Trade Deadline fast approaching.

Kevin Gausman delivered a solid outing, allowing just three runs on five hits over six innings while striking out six. Despite limiting hard contact, Boston capitalized with runners in scoring position—something the Blue Jays once again failed to do. Toronto's offence was silenced by Ranger Suárez and the Red Sox bullpen, finishing just 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position while managing only two extra-base hits in another disappointing offensive performance.

Looking ahead, the Blue Jays head to Washington for an intriguing series against the Nationals. Washington's offense has been one of the hottest in baseball, leading the league in home runs, slugging percentage, and OPS behind emerging stars CJ Abrams and James Wood. However, despite their explosive lineup and 54-52 record, the Nationals have been held back by one of MLB's weakest pitching staffs, ranking fourth-worst in ERA, while their 22-32 home record is tied for the worst in the majors.

Can former National Max Scherzer make a successful return against his old club in his first start since June 10? He'll square off against Andrew Alvarez as Toronto looks to bounce back and keep its fading postseason hopes alive.

Don't miss Flight Deck with Tyler Yaremchuk for complete Blue Jays analysis, MLB Trade Deadline discussion, game breakdowns, player performances, pitching matchups, and everything you need to know before Blue Jays vs. Nationals.

  • A Dylan Cease Masterclass: Toronto Blue Jays vs Boston Red Sox Game 106 Preview | Flight Deck
    2026/07/26

Dan Riccio breaks down a statement win for the Toronto Blue Jays on this episode of Flight Deck as the Jays blank the Boston Red Sox 6-0 behind one of the most dominant pitching performances of the season. Dylan Cease was sensational, tossing a complete-game one-hitter while continuing to prove why Toronto invested heavily in him during the offseason. Cease overpowered Boston from the first inning to the last, adding another elite outing to what has been an outstanding first season in a Blue Jays uniform.

The Blue Jays' offence finally broke through against a difficult matchup in Sonny Gray. Toronto erupted for five runs in the third inning thanks to clutch two-out hitting, beginning with an RBI single from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. before Ernie Clement ripped an RBI double. George Springer delivered the biggest blow of the night with a towering three-run home run that put the game out of reach. Guerrero added another RBI in the ninth inning as the Jays completed a convincing 6-0 victory.

With the series now in the balance, the Blue Jays turn to Kevin Gausman as they look to secure the series win against one of baseball's hottest teams. Gausman has struggled in recent starts, and with the MLB Trade Deadline rapidly approaching, speculation continues to grow that this could be one of his final outings in a Blue Jays uniform. Standing in Toronto's way is Ranger Suárez, who dominated the Jays earlier this season by throwing eight scoreless innings, allowing just one hit while striking out 10.

Can the Blue Jays finally build momentum heading into the trade deadline, or will the Red Sox bounce back as they continue chasing the AL East leaders while strengthening their American League Wild Card position? Dan Riccio breaks down Dylan Cease's brilliance, George Springer's big swing, Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s impact, Toronto's offensive breakout, the looming trade deadline, and what to expect in the next matchup.

We finish with Dan's picks presented by BET365.
