Fear It Goes explores the hidden patterns shaping high performers from the inside out — nervous system regulation, leadership, authenticity, emotional resilience, relationships, legacy, and the psychology behind how we think, lead, love, and live.

Hosted by Brandi Taylor, this podcast challenges the conditioning that keeps people successful on the outside but disconnected inside — uncovering the subconscious wiring, survival patterns, and emotional imprints silently driving performance, burnout, communication, and fulfillment.

Because true leadership isn’t built through performance.

It’s built through alignment.

This is the deeper conversation behind sustainable success, authentic power, and the legacy we leave behind.

No holding back.

    Power

Why owning who you are isn't arrogance.

Have you ever met someone who walks into a room and you feel their presence before they ever say a word?

They don't need to announce themselves.

They don't need to be the loudest.

They don't need everyone to agree with them.

They don't need to prove how successful, intelligent, or powerful they are.

They simply know who they are.

We often confuse power with dominance, status, control, or arrogance.

But real power isn't about being superior to anyone else.

Power is the ability to remain authentically yourself regardless of the audience.

Because leadership isn't limited by knowledge.

It's limited by the state of the nervous system applying that knowledge.

Authentic power doesn't say, Nobody gets to affect me.

    It says:

Nobody else gets to define me.

You can listen without surrendering yourself.

You can be challenged without collapsing.

You can be different without apologizing.

You can take up space without taking space away from someone else.

And you can allow another person to stand fully in their power without believing theirs threatens yours.

Maybe power was never something you needed to acquire.

Maybe it's what remains when you finally stop abandoning yourself.

    In this episode, you'll discover:

    • Why real power has nothing to do with dominance, control, or superiority
    • The difference between authentic power and arrogance
    • Why people-pleasing can be a nervous system strategy for maintaining belonging
    • How shrinking, apologizing, and seeking approval quietly give your power away
    • Why standing fully in who you are can actually feel unsafe
    • How our ancient need for belonging still influences the way we lead, speak, and show up today
    • Why authority and internal power are not the same thing
    • How self-trust allows you to hear feedback without abandoning yourself
    • Why someone else's power never requires the diminishment of your own
    • What changes when you stop asking the room for permission to be yourself

Because owning your power isn't about becoming bigger than anyone else. It's finally refusing to become smaller than who you are.

  • Being Seen
    2026/08/21

Have you ever wondered why you pull back just as you're getting closer to what you want?

    The bigger opportunity.

    The difficult conversation.

    The next level of leadership.

    The deeper relationship.

The success you know you're capable of... but you just stop yourself.

Most of us believe hesitation means we need something more.

More preparation, credentials, just something more.

Very few of us consider that our nervous system may not be afraid of being seen at all—it may be afraid of what being seen has historically meant.

    Judgment, expectations, disappointment, or rejection.

Or even being loved, celebrated and successful in ways we've never learned to receive.

In this episode, Brandi explores why visibility is more complex than just putting yourself out there—and why some of the most successful and visible people can still be hiding in plain sight.

Because you can build an extraordinary life and still carefully craft a safe version for each room.

Through insights into nervous system regulation, identity and leadership, Brandi explores how competence, perfectionism, preparation and achievement can become sophisticated ways of controlling what other people are allowed to see.

Eventually, the identity that once helped you belong becomes the very identity limiting your expansion.

Your nervous system needs capacity not only for failure but for success, recognition, money, love, influence and deeper intimacy.

So the greatest expression of visibility isn't getting everyone to look at you.

It's being able to remain yourself when they do.

    In This Episode

    You'll explore:

    • Why visibility can feel unsafe even when you consciously want it
    • How high performers hide through competence, preparation and achievement
    • The identities we create in order to belong
    • Why being admired and being known are different
    • Why success, recognition and love require nervous system capacity
    • The relationship between visibility and boundaries
    • Why being misunderstood doesn't require abandoning yourself
    • How to become more visible without giving everyone access to you

    Final Thought

Where in your life are you already visible... but still not allowing yourself to be fully seen?

Who would you no longer need to be if being seen finally felt safe?

If this episode connected with you, your success, leadership or relationships—follow Fear It Goes and share this episode with someone ready to stop disappearing inside the life they've built.

Stay tuned for Brandi's upcoming conversation with BJ about boundaries and how we stay connected without losing ourselves.

  • Epi 72 ~ When I Can No Longer See You
    2026/08/14

Have you ever wondered how you can understand someone so well in one moment... and completely lose the ability to see their perspective in another?

The spouse whose reaction suddenly makes no sense.

The employee you immediately decide has a bad attitude.

The child whose behaviour feels deliberately difficult.

The colleague whose intentions you're certain you understand.

The disagreement where suddenly your perspective feels like the only reasonable one.

We often assume these are communication problems.

But what if something is happening one layer earlier?

In this episode, Brandi sits down with BJ Slager to explore Theory of Mind—our capacity to recognize that another person has thoughts, feelings, beliefs, desires, and perceptions different from our own.

Together, they explore how Theory of Mind develops, why it's fundamental to empathy and healthy relationships, and why our access to it can change depending on the state we're in.

Because stress, fear, exhaustion, overwhelm, past experiences, and survival responses don't just change how we feel.

They can change what we're capable of seeing in someone else.

And suddenly the leader who can read a room brilliantly can't understand their spouse.

The compassionate parent loses access to curiosity.

The person across from us stops being someone with a different experience... and becomes the story our mind has created about them.

Maybe better relationships don't begin with getting everyone to understand us.

Maybe they begin with noticing when we've lost the capacity to understand them.

    In this episode you'll discover:

    • What Theory of Mind is and why it's fundamental to human connection.

    • Why empathy depends on our ability to recognize another person's experience as separate from our own.

    • How assumptions and projection can cause us to mistake our interpretation of someone for the truth about them.

    • Why curiosity and asking better questions can transform conflict and deepen relationships.

    • How fear, stress, exhaustion, overwhelm, and survival states can reduce our capacity to see another person's perspective.

    • Why someone can demonstrate extraordinary emotional intelligence in one environment and lose access to it in another.

    • How understanding another person's perspective can coexist with maintaining your own boundaries.

And the next time you find yourself certain you know what someone else is thinking, feeling, or intending, consider asking yourself a different question:

Am I actually seeing them... or am I seeing them through me?

And if you're ready to move beyond survival and begin leading, loving, and living from your authentic self, visit fearitgoes.com to learn more about coaching, speaking, and transformational programs designed to help high performers reconnect with themselves and create legacies that truly matter.
