    Welcome back and Happy New Year! We talk about how a sustainable enterprise is made, with Patricia Chourio from The World's Corner.She is the founder of a fair trades shop that has products handmade by women artisans from ethnic minority groups. She makes business meaningful by creating personal relationships with these artisans, buy directly from them at a fair price .Shopping ethically and ecofriendly is now easier and by doing so you are making a positive impact in these artisans and their community! We talk about the troubles of fast fashion, her day job and balancing 2 business ventures . We also talking about how there are some businesses present sustainable but their practices are't transparent or match what they want to represent. Let's start slow this year with slow fashion one accessory at a time! The World's Corner has macrame purses , table runners to scarves from Hmong people in Vietnam to  Guatemala.

  • Southern Queer Pride is Fried w/ Taylor Alxndr from SFQP

    We talk about queer spaces disappearing, and how Taylor is here to change that with SFQP. Taylor is the founder of SFQP, pop star, and drag showgirl.SFQP is a nonprofit that uplifts the ATL by providing resources to ATL Southern queer + trans folks especially QTBIPOC through festivals, workshops, the arts, and more. They are wanting to establish a Black queer-owned community space - the CLUTCH Community Center in the ATL. We discuss her travels and how cultural, social issues change how human trafficking works. We debunk some human trafficking myths. And lastly we discuss how you can take action and make a dent in human trafficking.
