  • Week 1 Waiver Wire Lottery Tickets: Players to Add BEFORE the Season Starts
    2026/09/09

On this episode of the Fantasy Football Almanac Show, I’m looking at the players you should consider adding to the end of your roster before Week 1. These aren't safe, career-long mediocre veterans who might give you a few usable fantasy points. We're taking home run swings.

The goal is simple: use those final roster spots on players whose situations could change quickly. If things break the right way in Week 1, you may already have the player everyone else in your league is fighting to acquire on waivers.

I break down lottery-ticket options at every position, including:

    QB Malik Willis

    RB Chris Rodriguez Jr.

    WR Jalen Nailor

    TE Chig Okonkwo

Plus many more high-upside players to consider before Week 1

Some of these players won't work out. That's the point. At the back of your roster, I'd rather chase breakout potential than predictable mediocrity.

  • Fantasy Football Quarterbacks
    2026/08/12

In this episode of The Fantasy Football Almanac Show, I break down one of the biggest decisions fantasy managers face on draft day: When should you draft a quarterback?

I start with some early preseason football and my reaction to the Hall of Fame Game, including Carson Beck's performance and what it could mean for his development. That leads into a larger discussion about how much the quarterback position has changed. Rookie quarterbacks are entering the NFL more prepared than ever to step onto the field and lead a franchise, and I discuss why that should affect the way fantasy managers value the position.

Then it's time to talk draft strategy. I break down the current average draft positions of the most popular fantasy quarterbacks, including Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Drake Maye, and others. Is the weekly advantage of taking an elite quarterback worth passing on a running back or wide receiver in the early rounds? Or does the increasing depth at quarterback make waiting the better strategy?

Finally, I discuss where I'm targeting quarterbacks in 2026 drafts, which QBs I believe offer value at their current ADPs, and how your overall roster construction should influence when you finally pull the trigger.

  • Pre-Training Camp Super Bowl Talk
    2026/07/17

In this episode, I unveil my 2026 NFL Power Rankings and break down which teams I believe have the best chance to hoist the Lombardi Trophy this season. Rather than simply ranking all 32 teams, I focus on the true Super Bowl contenders, explain what separates them from the rest of the league, and discuss the key factors that could determine who emerges in February.

I also examine several notable teams that didn't make my top tier and explain why I'm not quite ready to buy into the hype. From roster construction and coaching changes to quarterback play and overall depth, I discuss what's holding these teams back and what they'll need to prove during the season.

Finally, I identify my favorite dark horse candidates—teams that may not be getting much national attention today but have the talent and circumstances to make a legitimate Super Bowl run. Along the way, I also share several betting insights, including futures and against-the-spread opportunities that I believe offer value heading into the 2026 NFL season.

  • Underrated Rookie Wide Receivers
    2026/06/17

Most fantasy football managers spend all summer debating the same rookie wide receivers. Meanwhile, some of the most intriguing dynasty and late-round redraft targets are being completely overlooked.

In this episode of the Fantasy Football Almanac Podcast, Sean Ryan breaks down five rookie wide receivers who are flying under the radar heading into training camp but could see their fantasy value rise dramatically over the coming months.

    We discuss:

    • Zachariah Branch and why Atlanta's wide receiver depth chart may create an opportunity sooner than many expect.

    • Bryce Lance and whether New Orleans' improving passing attack can support another fantasy-relevant receiver behind Chris Olave and Jordyn Tyson.

    • De'Zhaun Stribling and why his skill set appears tailor-made for Kyle Shanahan's offense in San Francisco.

    • Caleb Douglas and Chris Bell, two Dolphins rookies who may be much closer to fantasy relevance than current ADP suggests.

    • Antonio Williams and why Washington's offensive changes could make him one of the most overlooked rookie receivers in fantasy football.

These aren't the players dominating headlines today, but they could be the names fantasy managers are scrambling to add after training camp and preseason action begins.

If you're looking for dynasty sleepers, deep roster stashes, and rookie wide receivers with a path to meaningful playing time, this episode is for you.

  • Favorite Offenses for Fantasy Football
    2026/04/24
Not all offensive systems are created equal and that holds true with fantasy football. Too often, fantasy football managers project players independently rather than as part of an offensive unit. This leads to over (and under) drafting players. Today, Sean Ryan digs into his favorite offenses for fantasy football purposes. In doing so, he also discusses sleeper potential for a few plaeyrs along the way.
