In this episode of The Fantasy Football Almanac Show, I break down one of the biggest decisions fantasy managers face on draft day: When should you draft a quarterback?
I start with some early preseason football and my reaction to the Hall of Fame Game, including Carson Beck's performance and what it could mean for his development. That leads into a larger discussion about how much the quarterback position has changed. Rookie quarterbacks are entering the NFL more prepared than ever to step onto the field and lead a franchise, and I discuss why that should affect the way fantasy managers value the position.
Then it's time to talk draft strategy. I break down the current average draft positions of the most popular fantasy quarterbacks, including Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Drake Maye, and others. Is the weekly advantage of taking an elite quarterback worth passing on a running back or wide receiver in the early rounds? Or does the increasing depth at quarterback make waiting the better strategy?
Finally, I discuss where I'm targeting quarterbacks in 2026 drafts, which QBs I believe offer value at their current ADPs, and how your overall roster construction should influence when you finally pull the trigger.
