このコンテンツについて

Family Church is located in Astoria, NYC, and our vision is simple: To build a community of faith in Astoria that is wholeheartedly committed to loving God and loving all people. Historically our church has been a place that Portuguese-speaking people have called their church family. However, today, through our English Ministry and a fresh vision to be a church that reflects the diversity of its community, we are a place for all to grow in the faith. We are glad to be able to offer this podcast so you can keep up with the sermons delivered by our pastoral care team.© 2024 Family Church NYC キリスト教 スピリチュアリティ 聖職・福音主義

In today’s installment of the “Money Matters” sermon series, Eric Maciel delves into the profound impact of how we handle our finances on our spiritual lives. Using a personal anecdote about home improvement projects, Eric compares the process of stripping paint from a door to the way Jesus’ teachings about money can strip away our superficial values to reveal deeper truths. Citing Matthew 6:19-24, Eric emphasizes that where our treasure lies, there our heart is also. He explains that our treasures, eyes, and obedience reveal our true values and loyalties. Earthly wealth is temporary and deceptive, while heavenly treasures are eternal and fulfilling. Ultimately, Eric challenges listeners to evaluate what lies within their hearts and to prioritize generosity and devotion to God over material wealth.
