I AM THE TRUE VINE | Connected to Christ or Headed for Disaster?

Can a branch survive after being disconnected from the vine? Can a life produce godly fruit while separated from Jesus Christ? In John 15:1–8, Jesus gives a sobering declaration: “I am the true vine.” He warns us that apart from Him, we can do nothing of eternal value.

A person may be religious, successful, admired, and surrounded by material possessions, yet remain spiritually barren because there is no living connection with Christ. Sin promises freedom but produces separation. Separation produces spiritual dryness. Spiritual dryness produces decay—and continued rejection of Christ ends in judgment.

This prayer does not encourage careless or reckless living. It calls us to walk in faith, wisdom, obedience, vigilance, repentance, and complete dependence upon Jesus Christ. Our confidence is not in human strength, charms, possessions, or earthly power. Our confidence is in the living God.
