In today’s episode of the Faith For Anxious Moms, we’re talking about something every mom faces—our reactions in stressful, emotional, and unexpected moments… especially when it comes to our kids.

  • EP 96 | How Do You Choose The Right Preschool For Your Child? With Michelle Pinkston
    2026/03/25

Choosing where to leave your little one for preschool, a Mother’s Day Out program, or even a church nursery can feel overwhelming for moms.

What should you actually be looking for?
    Safety? Curriculum? Staff? Faith influence?

In this episode of the Faith for Anxious Moms Podcast, I sit down with my former boss and longtime early childhood director, Michelle Pinkston, who has served for nearly 25 years and is the Global Director of the Child Learning Center at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. (And BTW their core Bible verse is noted in the show notes.)

After spending 14 years working in early childhood education myself—from small preschools to Title 1 public programs and large church Mother’s Day Out programs—we’re sharing what moms should really consider when choosing a preschool or early childcare environment.

    We talk about:

    • When to register and how waitlists work
    • What to look for during a preschool tour
    • Safety, staffing, and security questions every parent should ask
    • The difference a Christian preschool environment can make
    • How faith and the gospel show up in daily preschool life
    • What matters most for young children (and what really doesn’t)
    • How to handle classroom issues like biting, conflict, and communication with teachers
    • The #1 thing moms should know before trusting someone with their child

Wisdom in motherhood starts at the very beginning and is crucial for the comfort & security of our littles when in the care of someone else. And as moms—and now grandmothers—we also talk about how our perspective has changed watching our own daughters choose childcare for their babies.

Whether you're a SAHM, a work-from-home mom, or just need a little time for yourself, and find yourself navigating preschool decisions, Mother’s Day Out programs, or childcare options, this episode will give you practical wisdom and faith-filled encouragement for raising kids with intention.

Because at the end of the day, the most important question isn’t just what your child will learn

It’s who is influencing their heart.

  • EP 95 | Is It Obvious Where You Spend Your Time?
    2026/03/18

Have you ever noticed you can tell who someone’s been hanging out with—by how they act, look, carry themselves or speak?

There’s a sweet granny on TikTok who always ends her videos by saying the same thing…

And this week, that phrase hit different.

This week, we’re looking at another person that reflected who and how they spent time with someone in particular. As Christ following moms, we want to raise godly children who come to know and love God. We can see behaviors change in our kids, but do we look at ourselves for what we reflect to them?

Whether we are SAHMs, WFHMs, moms of littles or bigs, empty nesters or moms who struggle with anxious thoughts in parenting, who we reflect to our kids has a huge, and more important, an eternal, impact.

    This is a good one…so rich I can’t wait to share…

    SHINE ON...

    ENJOY friends and HAPPY WEDNESDAY!
